Way nicer and way thicker than you were expecting. Glad I accidentally ordered two although I think the one I’m using will last a lifetime. It’s great leather and made so well.

Words can't describe how much I love this cover. So much so that I've purchased three. I'm tempted to buy a couple more in fear the product eventually goes away.Over the years I have purchased a number of notebook covers. One of them is CRAZY expensive. Several with pen loops. Some with ribbons to mark your place. One made of canvas! (Floppy and too big.)This morning cover is precisely right. The leather is just thick enough. The feel of the leather gives such a tactile pleasure that I can't describe. Not smooth; just perfect. And the fit and finish is on point.And … it's so simple. I don't want pen loops for all of my covers. A ribbon placeholder? Bah, for the notebooks where I want one, I just made one myself with some gutted parachute cord (I have a way to add one that works exceptional well—no stitching or cutting needed.)Anyway. Just fantastic.

Over the years I've bought several different field notes covers, including the pricey one from Belroy. While most of them were nice, they all had the same (in my opinion) problem: they were all too big for a 3.5x5.5 Field Notes. Sure, they'd fit in there, but there was always a bit of extra room allowing the field notes to move around. THIS one is different. The Fan & Ran is a nice, THICK, cut of real leather and the dimensions are such that a 3.5 x 5.5" field notes fits nearly perfectly, with just enough room to allow the notebook to slide into place.Some people might want the extra room - maybe they use their field notes cover as a wallet (?), but I don't. I use this specifically to hold and protect my field notes and the Fan & Ran looks like it will do the job for decades.

Great quality leather cover however too small for my book. Have to return item but I hope seller contacts me and could make me a slightly bigger cover.

I like this notebook cover, but I wish it was just a little bigger. It’s a real tight fit for even cashier booklets. (It’s a bit of a hassle even getting those in.) Otherwise it looks really nice and feels sturdy.

This is great! The leather is of high quality and the stitching is good. It perfectly fits an A5 notebook, and it’s one third the price of most handmade pieces.
