Horror Toys at their Best!
Horror in it's purest form is difficult to create in a toy; yes you can have a figure of a character from Horror, but the chances of that item invoking the true nature of Horror are slim. The feelings of shock, revulsion, unease. Clive Barker and Todd McFarlane have really managed to accomplish this with the Tortured Souls line. The figures themselves are stunning; intricate detail showing every sickening detail with the utmost clarity. Despite the figures being works of nightmarish Horror, there is a lot of elegance and beauty in them as well, and for a lot of genre fans, this will undoubtedly remind them of the Hellraiser franchise (these were actually produced prior to the widely available Hellraiser figures by NECA). As well as a fantastically rendered figure, it would be foolish for me not to mention the novella which comes packed with the figures. Each part can be read on it's own with ample enjoyment, but to read them in sequence from start to finish will be a treat for any Clive Barker fan. Filled with his trademark shocking content and beautiful ways of showing what other authors may have flinched away from, they really are a good read. Talisac himself is probably the most controversial of the whole first set of Tortured Souls. This representation of a deranged doctor who is addicted to some of his own procedures and practices brings us an emaciated wreck of a man suspended by hooks from his face and a blade through his chest, while he nurtures an abhorrent creature in the translucent womb that hangs between his ruined legs. As you can probably expect, no sickening detail has been missed, and this results in something which looks truly spectacular displayed on your shelf (and will always provoke a reaction in people when they first view it!). Simply put, there has never been a more thought provoking and stunningly presented series of figures in my opinion.

WOW!!!
WOW just got my talisac figure set up on my shelf and does he look COOL! not really sure about fun(he just stands there),or educational value but his durability is VERY good as I had to take him apart and re-do him because I set him up wrong the first time.really like the novella that comes with each figure also, very nice touch!
