Great well-made, heavy duty backpack for hunting
bought this for my grandson for Christmas last year. It’s one he wanted for a long time and he was very excited about it. The bag is well-made very sturdy and can put a lot on it for hunting. And my son and grandson Hunt a lot.

I think I finally found my last mid size hunting pack!
I think I may have finally found my last hunting pack. Unfortunately I haven't used it in the field yet but just looking at it and loading my gear, it seems great. Smaller storage pocket has several internal smaller elastic mesh pockets to individually store your small items like knives, gloves, beanies and other stuff. The outside mesh pockets on the corners are large and fit a range finder very easy. The straps holding the outside pocket which folds down like a small table are strong and should hold well. The waist strap has a good size pocket on each side and is removable if not needed. I already fitted my rifle and bow in the sling and they both strap down tight and secure. The hydration pocket for a bladder is great. It will fit my 3 liter bag no problem and there is a nice plastic clip on the right shoulder strap to clip in the drink tube. There are also 2 clips to hold the water bladder at the top so the bag won't fall to the bottom of the pocket. Large storage pocket will fit plenty of gear and clothing. I think I could fit enough in there for a 3 day hunt. Rain cover and bow/rifle sling store away very neat and will stay out of the way if not needed. Zippers are very strong and pull tabs are held open with ribber coating for easy access with gloves. The pictures show a bow quiver attached to the side. Quiver is NOT included but shows how they easily attach to the side. Retail price from Alps OutdoorZ web site is $129.00 so Amazon's price is a great deal. I got mine a bit cheaper but I think Amazon made a pricing mistake so I won't tell you what I paid. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this pack. This is the 3rd hunting specific backpack I've bought in the last 3 years. I also have a Badlands Source pack and GamePlan Gear Over-N-Under 3-in-1 Pack System. Both are really nice in their respective ways but I think the Alps Pursuit pack has finally given me everything I need. Hope this helps and happy hunting!UPDATE 7/8/19: I've been using the pack in the field for turkey and deer hunting the past 2 years and it has lived up to everything I hoped it would be. Strap system works well for carrying either a rifle or bow and I have strapped both to the back. Will hold large size water bladder and all the gear you need for a full day or 2 trip. I have no complaints at all about this pack and nothing on this pack has failed to include zippers and stitching. You won't be disappointed with this pack.

Just a great backpack! Recommended!
Basically, I was looking for a backpack that I could take hunting and use for any outdoor activities so I didn't have to use my school backpack. So, I bought this and here are some thoughts:-PROS--A lot of straps available to fit to many different body width's and height allowing it to sit very comfortable for a long period of time.-Metal back plate adds to the stiffness and strength of the backpack.-Extra padding on straps and back to ensure EVEN MORE comfort (I honestly can't stress how comfortable carrying around a lot of weight around in this is.)-A lot of room (as expected)-Extra clips rings for carabiners, keys, and any type of clips on front and in front pocket-Hydration pack READY (not included)-Rain Cover, Rifle Holder & XL Side Pockets-Front front fanny pack thing on the belt is one of my favorite things! All your needs right on your front hip while you're out in the field!!I personally love the rifle holder for those long hunting walks and you don't want to carry it anymore or maybe you luckily got your hands full and need to lock it up!!-Cons--The middle compartment was a little smaller than anticipated but the extra big pocket made that okay.Overall, I love it. Ive only had it for a few months but have abused it and it looks brand new still. Its very comfortable to wear and everyone should buy it, how can you not at that price also??

Good day pack with ability to easily carry bow
Over all pretty pleased with this pack. I used this probably 25 times this season and it shows no wear. Purchased as a day pack primarily for its ability to carry my compound bow. That system works well and holds the bow securely. I was walking or riding a bike about 2 miles to get to my hunting area and did not want to or could not carry my bow in my hands. I did keep my quiver mounted to my bow a few times but preferred to mount the quiver on the side using either the mesh pocket with strap or just strap. This did tend to put the arrows sticking about a foot above my head which can catch branches. The bottom of the bow which sticks below the pack about 8 inches was never a problem except when setting the pack down. It’s a comfortable pack to carry and has similar load adjustments as a true overnight back pack has. The waist belt is removable. The small accessory pouches are not. The waist belt did tend to slip a bit when carrying heavy loads. Pack could use a lot of additional tie down points or mole webbing. I would like to be able to strap additional clothing to the outside for the hike in and all day hunts with changing weather. You can use the existing straps on the side to secure a jacket. There are a few mesh pockets in the smaller zipped area. No pockets in the large area except the one intended for a water bladder. I never weighed my loaded pack but I’d guess around 20-25 lbs with bow and that would include a medium weight jacket and pants extra socks, hats, gloves, 1 liter water, lunch and snacks, calls, binoculars, and few other small items depending on where I was going. I thought the smaller area’s “shelf” feature would be useful but never really used it in a tree stand. I did get caught in a freezing rain with wind and the stuff inside was dry. The zippers did freeze up. Would have used the cover but I had the bow on the back and it won’t fit. If your looking for a day pack that allows you to easily carry a bow (didn’t try a firearm), I’d recommend this pack. If you looking for a hiking pack or book bag or overnight pack there are probably better choices.I took off one star because of the lack of tie down points and the accessory pouches not being removable.
