Q: can it hold alcohol based markers? (ohuhu, copic)

Not sure. I use it for watercolor pencils. 3 pencils to a compartment fit. I don't own Copics or ohuhu so I couldn't measure. Great case for my purposes.

Q: Does this case have any noticeable chemical smell or other odor?

I have never noticed an odor coming from this case.
