It kind of works as a replacement cord but you can't push it all the way in or it won't work. You have to kind of mess with the cord to get it to work

I almost lost my mind because at first when plugging it in, I was only getting sound out if my left ear. Come to realize I didn't push the peg all the way into my headset. Now its perfect and I can hear everything I'm listening to while cutting out background noise.
