Great and Nutritious Product For Your Skin and Your Conscience!
I am going to start by saying that I enjoy purchasing items that are Fair Trade as every person in the world deserves a living wage in their home country and to be rewarded for their efforts. Most Shea Butter from Ghana is made by hand, and it is in a extremely time consuming effort that requires a lot of work and honestly arm and back strength. Now there are a lot of Shea Butter scams online, and some inferior products are sold online at cheaper prices. The items to always be on the lookout for as far as Shea Butter standards are: raw/unrefined, unbleached, organic, and Grade A, preferably Food Grade certified as well. A lot of people do not know that you can actually cook with certain type of Shea Butter and its quite delicious. The smell of the Shea butter should always be earthy and a bit nutty in odor and should melt very quickly when it is in contact with skin or rub it in your hands. Now the coloring of the Shea Butter is not a telling sign of the quality as there are various type of Shea Butter and different blends that include other ingredients that are used for various reasons, including healing certain ailments. I have always suffered from serious skin problems which require me to use a lot of acids on my skin and Shea Butter has been a very reliable moisturizer in keeping my skin healthy and to the outside world my skin looks great even though of genetic issues. Now be aware that in general it is best to use in the evening as it can leave you a bit shiny and a bit smudgy. Depending on your skin type this varies, but honestly it is incredibly nutritious for your skin and it contains Vitamin F and it aids in skin regeneration. I have to say that the packaging is great, but the internal bag could be better and easier to access. I also noticed I received exactly 15.8 oz of butter and not a full 16 oz of butter. It is not a big deal and had it been a few oz less I would have had a bit of a problem, but 15.8 is close enough. I have used it a few days now and I have noticed that it is very good quality and similar to the types I have tried from Ghana before. Fun Fact #1: The Best Shea Butter actually comes from the Northern Portion of Ghana and it is something to keep an eye out for. Fun Fact # 2: It can take up to 8 weeks of daily use of Shea Butter to start reversing the signs of wrinkle and major skin damage, something to keep in mind as well in your Shea Butter usage.

Others seemed legitimately unrefined and were good. Another was quite good and while I believe ...
I have tried many different shea butters, all raw/unrefined, high quality stuff or at least advertised as much, and I have had mixed experiences... Some went on dry and didn't seem to moisturize at all, usually those were the ones that seemed the most refined despite what was advertised. Others seemed legitimately unrefined and were good. Another was quite good and while I believe it was mostly unrefined, it seemed to be pre-softened which actually made it not go as far because it wasn't as dense. FairTaleGhana is BY FAR the best shea butter I have ever tried!! It's clearly unrefined, very fresh and natural and unadulterated, and very moisturizing! It's not greasy like another good, but seemingly pre-softened shea butter I've tried. I really feel like I'm getting all the vitamins and active nutrients that makes shea so great, with this product - and in fact, I actually KNOW that I am because I know exactly where it's coming from and that it's truly unrefined (the transparency is so refreshing!). I love that you deal with the actual manufacturers as opposed to distributors which can sometimes result in an adulterated product or one that is not as fresh. I love the transparency of this company and I love that I'm supporting the women employed while buying a product I'd be purchasing anyway!!I've only used it for one day so far, I'm excited to see the difference it makes but already my skin feels very moisturized and soft. My hands have been dry lately from over washing with a harsher soap than I'd prefer and I've been using another shea butter to help protect them, but I just opened my FairTaleGhana shea last night and was able to use it and this is the first time in a long time that my hands feel quenched.Another thing I'm loving is that even though this is a little less expensive than another shea butter I had gotten that was also a good quality (the one I described as seeming pre-softened but still highly quality - a bit fluffier but definitely not whipped or anything), once again, not only is it the best quality I've tried, but it goes a longer way! The packages are the same size, but what I do is I transport my shea into a glass jar. With the other brand, I'm able to fit a full package into a jar whereas FairTaleGhana, I was not able to fit all of a single package into my shea jar so I have quite a bit left over.I placed my order to stock up for over the summer and was a bit worried because when I got them, they FELT smaller than the other brand I've been getting, but turns out it's just because they're more DENSE and as I've just explained, you actually get more. Plus, you need way less - a little goes a long way. It's hard but usable where you don't have to heat it or anything. I will be buying from this brand from now on.It's also organic naturally, but a lot of shea butters aren't certified organic because they're wildly grown and it would be really expensive or even impossible to do (going by my basic understanding), so you know you're not getting pesticides or anything, but a lot of companies still label organic even if they're not certified... it's understandable because the shea is actually organic, but I really like when companies are strict with label laws and all that. So I love that FairTaleGhana describes and even shows where their shea comes from and can explain the whole thing when asked, but still sticks to the strict labeling laws. To me, adhering to label laws so strictly is a good sign of overall integrity and legitimacy.

Nourishes your skin
I bought this shea butter as I looked to make my own body butter from more natural sources, not B&BW. This!!! It holds well over time, but more importantly it actually moisturizes your skin! Our winters are very dry and cold, which produces dry and cracked skin on hands and feet for my daughter and me. I rubbed a little bit into her hands one night and they looked so much better the next day. She asks me if I will put more on to continue helping her hands. I have also noticed a huge improvement on my heels that would be very dry, something I would never achieve using other big brand moisturizers. This is now my go-to company and I will be back for more soon!
