X strap says this is a 10,000 lb tow hook. Right on the packaging they say not to use it with a working load over 3500 lb. My single cab short bed Ranger weighed 4000 lb. What could you possibly use this with?Something else I noticed was nowhere in this ad or on the packaging does it say but this Hook is forged. My assumption is that it's cast. When I emailed X strap about this hook they replied to me talking about a 10,000 lb strap. I emailed the person back explaining the error and that I was questioning their tow hooks. The person then responded to me again talking about the strap. The English was too good for there to have been a misunderstanding due to a language barrier. I cannot recommend this because it would be too dangerous to use on anything but an ATV. And would certainly not be good for vehicle recovery, especially with most any vehicle his going to weigh more than the working load for this hook, and if the vehicle has any resistance beyond that like suction from mud this could be deadly. It's not worth the extra few dollars unless this is just for a pavement princess. Even then the hook can't really be used in French $2 more you can get hooks that could be used.

Wanting hooks for my tractor bucket, I naturally went to Amazon.com and searched for them. What I found was not only very reasonably priced but I got TWO of them for the price of one. Installation took about 10 minutes and presto I'm now prepared for lifting heavy loads with my bucket safely. Great choice and great price.

Haven't installed them yet but the little spring steal, idk clips? They just bend instead of snap back to keep a strap from falling off the hook. Gonna heat treat em to try to make em more springy.

They look good, really easy to install lined right up, however the mounting bolts are way too short. Had to use the factory bolts that i took off. Other than that, i have hooks since the factory ones did not fit after the bumper replacement.
