Q: Is this brace a soft or hard material in the back region? Is this durable to work out in and to wear all day at work?

Look at the photos. It's mostly a soft, pliable, velcro-type material with added support in the back area. It feels good and secure to wear. I'm not certain just what kind of work-out exercises you do. If you are lifting weights then consider getting a sturdy, rigid weight-lifter's belt. This brace comes around your waist and stomach so it probably would not be comfortable for sit-ups, crunches, etc. As for wearing "at work", if you sit at a desk all day, drive a forklift, work in a warehouse, it should be fine.

Q: Is this the best Lumbar Supports brand? The quality of how?

I don't know if it is the best lumbar support brace. I do know that it gives me great support and the amount of the support is adjustable through the pully system. I am very pleased with this product , it really helps with my spinal stenosis.

Yes it would very good for lower lumber
