Great-looking tanto-blade tracker knife
Blade is not all that sharp, but all the points and edges are precise and without flaws or damage. It has a nice handle: attractive, without craftsmanship flaws, and fits very securely in my hand. The sheath is nice-looking, but the leather straps look a little old or worn or damaged or something (e.g., like they repurposed some old worn leather for the straps). The rivets securing the straps to the rest of the sheath look rusty and one rivet has cut into the leather strap, severing it halfway around the rivet, compromising its structural integrity. It will work just fine for now, but will surely eventually tear all the way. At which point I will have to see if it can be (1) easily repaired; or (2) creatively and aesthetically rigged; or (3) replaced. If the last of the options, I've done a little leather working in the distant past and so I may try my hand at making my own simple leather sheath for it myself, going off of the dimensions of this sheath. With shipping, I paid $42 for it. I am pleased with the knife. I am a bit disappointed in the sheath in terms of the quality and craftsmanship of the leather straps and rivets. Great knife for the value
I was worried about the reviews of people saying they didn't receive as shown or there were flaws or damage and broken sheaths and such and I am very happy with this knife. This is my first Damascus steel blade and it's very cool, has great weight to it and feels balanced plus comfortable to grip. I'm 6' 1" and don't have small hands and the handle fits my grip perfectly which I have to add the grooves and cut of the handle are different than the picture but for my hand it fits great so it worked out. Also the handle being Micarta and not wood it won't absorb water or oils so that's cool too. The blade is very impressive and came with a thin honed but not very sharp edge. I have to say that I used an electric knife sharpener with a different angle to it on the first main blade segment and at first I thought I hadn't run it enough but realized I need a smaller grit so my blade has a larger and now softer edge, that is not how it looked when I got it, other than the smaller segment blade below main that remained thin because I didnt sharpen it yet. All in all I'm very impressed with this knife, my only complaints is that the sheath feels kinda frail and the horizontal belt connection is alright but could use a third strap to hold the handle upright better, also my blade did not come with the small divits on the top edge where my thumb is positioned in the pic I'm holding it, but that's a minor thing doesn't affect the blade at all. Definitely worth the price and I can't wait to get the correct belts to sharpen this beast. EDIT: I purchased the more varied belts and was able to put a nicely honed edge on the blade now, very impressed.

Awesome, especially for the price!
This knife exceeded expectations. I was just looking for a cheap knife. It came with the blade oiled up, good and sharp, with no rolling or chips. Looks really awesome with the damascus steel and hand carved handle. Been kinda rough on it today just testing it. Didn't phase the knife at all. Worth the buy and my compliments to the knife smith. I really dig it

Great knife, but a part of it isn't sharpened
Really beautiful knife. And weighted well. The balance is a bit off but still would be a great thrower because of the weight of the blade. Read a lot of articles and reviews on this knife and found that this knife is rated as tougher and more durable than the tops tom brown tracker knife and as it's Damascus steel it's stronger and will bend so it won't break easily. The edge is excellent and is hair-shaving sharp out of the box. No need to sharpen it. The blade is beautiful and it's real Damascus. People think bcz the design gets rubbed off with a grit stone it's not real. But the process of Damascus is using acids and compounds on the blade to bring out the designs off the layering of the steel. It's real Damascus don't believe the naysayers who only think they know knives or steel. Beautiful and good quality sheath. Remember to oil this knife with chibi oil and clean it. Wash with warm soapy water and a sponge. Dry thoroughly and oil it after every use and often when in storage. It will rust, this isn't stainless steel. It's carbon Damascus steel. These places need care or you'll ruin the steel. If any rust spots appear use a grit stone and polish off the rust. Still a beautiful knife and very cool. I gave it 4 stars because I didn't like how the hook part by the tanto edge of the blade and the beginning of the finer working base of the blade isn't sharp. You could still shave fat wood with the sharp angles of the non-sharpened part by scrapping it down the wood you've batoned through or the fat wood you can bring along or shave. Could definitely use the belly of the blade to make feather sticks to start a fire. A bit let down the hook part of the blade wasn't sharpened but other than that I really like this knife. Definitely recommend.

Perfect grip handle.Carbon Damascus Steel, it's harder than stainless. Nicely forged and etched metal. Love using it as is, as functional as it is beautiful. Don’t leave food or other organic materials on your knife, clean with dish soap and warm water, and promptly dry the blade. Very sharp, depending on usage learn as I did how to sharpen this blade, and oil this blade. Close up, you can see the micro-serrations on the edge that keep this blade super sharp. It’s plenty strong and durable.

I may or not be a collector but I have many knives and this is my favorite. It's heavy for it's size. Fits awesome in the hand and is pleasing to the eye. It's so sharp it's scary! It has a magnificent back carry sheath. I love this knife! Amazing craftsmanship period.

Just got this knife and was confused by all the comments. Some so good some bad. I accidentally ordered two and I noticed they are different and some imperfections so it vary likely has a lot to do with who made the blade or if it was on a Friday maybe. My early impression is it came fairly sharp was able to make feather sticks out of the box. It chopped well, Stabbed into hard wood and was good at bowtoning and did not chip or roll the edge. The notching groves on the top worked ok. Worked great striking a fire steel. So as of now I am impressed for the price I’m happy. I just now have to see how it holds up if the steel is a good quality. For Damascus steel it’s extremely cheep is my only concern. Oh and the Sheaf was a lighter colour but over all vary happy at the price a great value and I’m not gonna cry over the colour of the sheaf or the minor imperfections. If I was paying the $300 plus for a hand forged knife I would expect perfection.

For the price, a great piece of real damascus steel. Not practical, but well crafted with a mosaic pin and all. Comfortable grip, sturdy build.
