Once you have cleaned your filter, you have removed the filter fibur from the Cartridge filter. Therefore, it has to be added back after each cleaning where it can assist in increasing filter run time, reducing filter clogging, and improving the clarity of the water. I doubt it very much. It is designed for a diatamatious earth filter.

yes, it is a great filter media for Salt Water Pools, Tablet Pools, with Sand or Cartridge filters. Mix into a Slurry consistancy, then pur in skimmer.
