Q: This shade looks almost tan- what color is it really?

Q: Do the light bulbs work independently? In other words can you turn on just one bulb?

Yes, there are two chains, one on one side and one on the other, one for each bulb. Of course, these days, you can also purchase Smart bulbs and turn each one on or off, or change their colors, from your phone!
