How To Kill Your Family : Mackie, Bella: desertcart.in: Books Review: Loved it! - The quality of the book itself is fine. The story is simple and good. It is Immersive, recommend it to beginner readers. Review: What did I just read? - Oh My God! It's dark, witty, and Lough out loud funny. I enjoyed it very much until I wasn't. It holds you on the edge and drive you nuts. And I love you Bella for this masterpiece but what the hell? Ending is something that it'll take a few feel good reads to process. It's 5 star read for sure. But I'm taking that one star for that nerve wracking ending.

Female rage and what to do about it!!
We enjoyed reading this book - a young with a revenge kill list, deliciously creative ways of bumping people off, single minded focus, remorseless and successful in carrying out her plans to eliminate those she thinks wronged her and her mother. What's not to like? Grace is a young woman who has planned and waited all her life to take revenge on her father's side of the family who have wronged her and her mother. She has spent her teenage and young adult years with a single minded focus to carry out her evil plans to bump off people who are technically her family but never believed she is. She is creative and meticulous in her approach, well planned and focused on her goal. She ticks the names off her list and is patient not to rush things along. Except that the best laid plans will always have someone who walks in and upsets the schedule you are on. And this happens with Grace too - ironically she gets arrested and jailed for a murder she actually had no hand in. By the time she can clear her name and get out to complete her plans with the crowning glory, things have gone out of hand and her opportunity gone depriving her of a sense of completion. Read it to know if she manages this.

I loved this book. It's so well written and so dry and intelligent That was refreshing. But that ending? Left me a bit frustrated. I wanted a full win . That wasn't a full win, when you are rooting for the villain you want them to win. You want the "nice boys" to either have reprucations or to stay nice and not turn to be jerks. Our nice cast was not either. And I hate open ended endings 😉. But it is an excellent read. It kept me on my toes and engaged the entire time. And the author is a wordsmith that takes her prose seriously.

A lot of fun to read. Gets rid of all the cobwebs, at least for me. The narrator is a cynical young woman who does not care much for humans, and even less for her own human family. She lives and does as she thinks she should; all of it is thoroughly more-ish for a reader. There are sequences, scenes and situations which make our brains, eyes and ears pop, and every moment is an unusual delight. Congratulations to Bella Mackie.
