Tunze Comline DOC Skimmer 9001.001

So far, it's the best nano skimmer i've used to date. I've always been a little intimidated by the tunze skimmers, i guess because they look and function a little differently from many other skimmers. However, I like the fact that they make their own DC pump for this thing, and on my coral QT tank, which is an old JBJ 24G biocube, it works perfectly. I have it in the left-most chamber, but it can also fit into the center chamber. I already had my ATO bracket and some other stuff in the middle, so it worked out better on the left. It took a day or two getting it tuned in, but now i'm pretty consistently pulling some skimmate every day. I've got the DC pump set just under half-way, maybe 11 o'clock or so on the dial. The whole tank looks a lot better now that this is on it, not sure if it's just from oxygenation, or the waste removal, or what, but I am very happy so far. I'd tried two other nano skimmers, both were kind of flawed in their own ways and couldn't hold a candle to this tunze. I first ordered it from amazon, but they sent me the standard AC pump version, i returned it and bought the DC pump version elsewhere. Hopefully they can figure out whatever mislabeling is in their supply chain, as I definitely wasn't going to spend the extra money for no reason. No fault of the skimmer, however.

Paid for the 9001.001 & received a 9001 .. it's about a $60 difference.. different model 9001 has no DC controller. Wrong item was sent from the seller. Shame to give this a low review because Tunze makes great products.. beware of buying on here

While the brand itself seems to get decent reviews, this particular model seems to be limited to truly a nano reef. Too small for even a BioCube - maintaining any level of consistency proves challenging and requires constant attention. I'm sure in this size range, you can't expect much - but there comes a point where one has to wonder why even make it.

I have had this product for over a month and a half. This product is terrible. I have a coralife protein skimmer filter combo for 30 dollars that skims circles around this product. I contacted tunZe regarding this and practically shot down. I had purchased this after reading many reviews and not at all I had hoped. Way cheaper options that out perform.
