Stops Japanese Beetles / No Harm to Roses or Flowering Vines
Mixed as directed on bottle, and although the Japanese Beetles seemed unbothered by the direct spray, I continued as directed and did my best to soak top and bottom of foliage. I sprayed later in the evening because most all plants needing treatment were in full sun thru the day. Surprisingly, by the next day the beetles had moved on. I did not see a single “dead” insects, but they definitely lost interest rather quickly. With continual and ongoing rainfall I still only needed to treat the plants after 10-14 days. Once I put a Bonide beetle trap in the yard, on a stake and up wind as suggested, I no longer needed to spray specifically for the Japanese Beetles. That trap saved the day and since then used Bonide spray around windows and doors. It cleared up every insect issue we deal with. We spray around outdoor porch, deck, and landscape lighting and find it eliminates light-attracting insects from swarming the lights. Spraying around windows and doors (including removing and spraying screens) ended gnats and mosquitoes from bothering us indoors. This Bonide worked far beyond my hopes with pests. Better yet, it also stood up frequent, and often heavy downpours without losing effectiveness.

Sawflies be gone!
I purchased this for my knockout roses and my hibiscus plants which both had sawflies infestations. After liberally spraying, it killed the sawflies and saved my plants. With sawflies, I understand you have to spray them a month later. Worth it if you want to save your plants.

My Go-To For Serious Bug Control
Been an organic gardener for many years, but have cut back on planting due to back and knee issues, so everything is in containers now. Between Eight and Neem Fertilizer and companion planting, I keep bugs off my plants. For the serious stuff (like cabbage worms on broccoli, kale, etc.) nothing works like Eight. Give 'em a thorough dousing in the morning out of the sun and all the little buggers are totally gone the next morning. Then douse 'em again, just to make sure. The worms don't come back, just keep an eye out for moths looking for a plant to raise their young in. Eight is great stuff, every effective and does not harm the plant.

Works on Munchers, Not Suckers
I wanted to control tomato horn worms and leaf miners, which were particular problems on cucumber plants. My impression is that this product did reduce the caterpillar problem and the leaf miners. However, the cucumbers were attacked by white flies (see image) and this product didn't seem to control them. I was spraying daily under the leaves and on the top surfaces, and while the spray caused these insects to disperse for a few seconds, they almost immediately landed back on the leaves. The next day, the white flies were back. There didn't seem to be much residual effectiveness for this product on these insects. I think it controlled larvae that eat the leaves, but it did nothing that I could see to the white flies, which suck the sap.
