Easy and accurate
I don't write many reviews, but I am compelled to write this review to clarify some misconceptions that are clearly due to operator error. First, several people complained that the device is not accurate-- that it consistently underestimates yardage. Ummm.... this appears to be true only because the device is showing the distance in meters instead of yards. (I have inadvertently changed the measurement units a couple of times myself, but realized my mistake.) I have found battery life to be great. I can easily get 8 hours of use from a single charge. I suspect that those getting poor battery life have either a bad micro-usb cable (who ever thought micro usb was a good thing!!??) or perhaps a charger that is malfunctioning. I might also get better battery life because I do not use the voice. Another complaint is that it sometime reads the wrong hole if you pass a tee box or hit into the wrong fairway, and that there is no way to fix that problem. The device displays the hole it is reading, and it is, in fact, very simple to change holes being displayed--read the instructions before complaining, people! I have had my unit for about 2 years and have played hundreds of rounds with absolutely no problem. It is very accurate when compared to my rangefinder, which I now only use on unfamiliar courses to find distances to hazards. There are limits to the GPS--like all GPS devices, it reads as the crow flies so that severe doglegs are underestimated, and this GPS has no distance to hazard function. Having this GPS definitely speeds up play because it is continuously measuring distance as you move, so that unlike with a rangefinder, there is no stop, press a button and wait for a distance. Although I don't use it this function, it is worth mentioning that you can also measure the distance of shots after they are made. This is a basic unit, but what it does do, it does well.

Adequate for the price
After 10 rounds: Seems accurate most of the time. But not 100% confident all of the time. Battery and charging less reliable. Only charges to 4 of 5 bars. Will last 18 holes, but not much more than that. Maybe the backlight drains the battery... who golfs in the dark? Why does this thing have a backlight? Too easily moved to wrong hole.

Ditch the view finder
Has a function that will speak out loud the distance. Super easy to use. Better than a viewfinder and as it’s more accurate. Super durable accidentally ran it through the wash and it powered up no issue.

Haven't found a course yet not in its memory.
This is a product that I was introduced to on the golf course by another player who had activated it. Ordered my first prox. 5+ years ago. I haven't found a course that isn't on it in my travels in and out of the U.S. I and some of the people I meet on the course depend on that voice , dictating the yardage. My wife knows, this is the one voice that I listen too and don't question. She will in jest attempt to duplicate it when she sees an item that needs attention around the house. Attached to my hat, I've never left it on a cart and had to go back to retrieve it. Players in my group have stood along side of me with their range finder after getting it out of their bag or off the cart and shot the same distance. Although I have forgotten to take it off charge at home and turned back around to retrieve it. My must have, to play 18.

Accurate, saved me 2-3 strokes on first 9-hole round
I was skeptical at first but unit seemed very accurate and easy to use. The slope adjustment is very helpful and really helped my approach shots. At least 2 times, maybe 3 I used a different club that I what I normally use. You have to read the manual to understand all the functionality.

No bells, no whistles but it provides accurate yardage ...
No bells, no whistles but it provides accurate yardage on every course I've played so far. Have compared readings from Garmin and a couple of range finders and this is right on. Holds charge for 2.5 rounds. Worth the money. UPDATE: Used the GBuddy for 8 or 10 rounds and all was good. However, someplace around early September, the GBuddy started giving bad yardages. The longer the distance, the higher the discrepancy.......for example, from the tee box, it was off 35 or 40 yards on a 360 yd. hole. Today, I'm sitting on the course 100 yd. marker and the GBuddy is showing 89 yds. And it isn't on jut a few holes, it's every hole. If you can't rely on the distances, it's pretty much worthless. As an fyi, I updated the software last night before playing today. Didn't help at all. I'll try a "emergency reboot" tomorrow. If that helps, I'll revise this review but for now, I'd urge you to consider a Garmin or Leupold rangefinder.....offers a lot more utility. Update #2. DUH! Had it set for "meters". Switched it back to yards and it works great. My bad....good product.....dumb user. :-/

Buyer Beware; Golf Buddy did not honor their one year limited warranty
Normally my reviews are very good. This is probably the worse review I have ever written on Amazon. I cannot recommend the Golf Buddy Voice 2. The display on my Voice 2 became inoperable after being used approximately 10 times. I purchased the unit from Amazon in June, 2017 and it stopped working in September, 2017. It's so new that I still have the original packaging. I attempted to have the Voice 2 replaced or fixed under the one year limited warranty but the request was denied. The warranty proved to be useless after Golf Buddy, without even asking me to send them the unit, determined that I must have broken the unit. They said that the LCD can only stop working if it is cracked or if significant pressure was placed on the LCD. There is no crack on the LCD nor was significant pressure ever placed on it. Picture attached of virtually new unit (with charger port open in top right). The LCD gradually stopped working until it failed completely. Oddly enough the voice or sound still works fine; I just can't see anything on the display. I had purchased the Voice 2 after owning an original Golf Buddy for more than 3 years. I thought the Voice 2 might be more accurate than the original Golf Buddy which is why I purchased it. My original Golf Buddy still works fine after several years and more than 100 rounds of use. I treated the new Voice 2 the same as the original Golf Buddy (ie. carefully) and the new Voice 2 broke after only 10 rounds and 3 months after purchasing it. Obviously it was a defective unit. Based on my experience, Golf Buddy does not stand by their product and does not honor their warranty. If a company does not stand by their warranty I cannot recommend purchasing from that company.
