2nd one Great Reel!!
Love this reel take your focus off your rod with the built in clicker you will definitely know if a fish is running with your bait. Perfect for catfish and gar! This is my 2nd time buying this reel it will cast further than the 6500s with more drag and more bearings you can stay in the fight a fish with this reel.

Nice reel, but missing parts
Purchased this reel from Amazon Warehouse Deals, used, seems like a good reel, the only issue I found was that whoever had it first messed it up, the tensioner knob was missing the little brass plates inside, they're necessary to adjust the cast, and it felt like it had too much grease inside, the cast would die in mid air, probably due to all that grease inside, if it wasn't missing parts, I would've kept it, Amazon was excellent as always... Thanks!!!

Not happy
Bought this in January to use for porgie season went to spool it with line and the lock to retrieve the for the spool seemed to not catch the reel barely would retrieve the line. Tighted the drag checked the free spool mechanism no change now I have to send it the manufacture for repair. Not very happy. Rel has alot of plastic as well

Best Price of This Bait casting reel I have found.5.9:1 gear ratio is Ideal.One can use Mono, Flourocarbon or Braid any would work fine.

tiny 'made in china' sticker on reel
I am experienced in fishing but this is my first baitcasting reel. It's smaller and lighter than i expected. Even though it said made in Sweden in advertisements i looked and found a teeny tiny sticker that said 'made in china' on the reel. After that initial disappointment I think the reel worked great except for my 'newbie' mistakes of line backlash which i'm still learning different adjustments to fix. I think that's my fault. not the reel.

Silky smooth reel. One of the best I own.
This reel works great. I'm very happy I chose this Ambasssadeur reel. It's smooth and the gear ratio is fantastic. Understand there's a learning curve to be able to cast effectively, but that's with any bait cast reel. After severely bird-nesting my reel 4-5 times I finally got the hang of it. Casts long and smooth when you master the tension adjustment. Liked it so much I purchased a second one for my dad's birthday. He also loves it.
