The longer lasting, dual purpose (ground and K-Cups) coffee maker at 1/3 of the K-Cup only machines.
I bought my first Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker nearly 10 years ago for under $50. After spending a few years replacing the K-Cup brand coffee makers I had, which cost about three times the price every two years, I decided to invest in a more durable option. Okay, the model doesn't have a water reserve or all the fancy options of the K-Cups, but it was reliable, easy to clean, and worked fine (and I can pour the water into my cup and into this coffee maker and get the size cup I want). You can have a "traditional" cup of coffee or use a K-Cup, and the new version even has both a "Regular" and "Bold" choice, and is even quieter than my first device. Its cost is a few dollars more, but still under $60. I recommend it.

Clean every month with vinegar and you will never have a problem with this product.
This is the best, fastest, and easiest way to get a great cup of coffee in the morning. I highly recommend. I bought 3, one for me, and one for each of my coffee loving sons.

Hamilton Beach to the rescue
I recently had to replace my coffee maker. The one I had was a dual use maker; it could be used for single serve or for brewing a pot of coffee. It's need for replacement was due to my own negligence - long story. It too was a a Hamilton Beach product and had served me well. When I started investigating for a newer coffee maker, Hamilton Beach was my first choice to look at. I needed a smaller size that wouldn't take up too much space on the counter. I also wanted it to brew a delicious cup of mug of coffee. My search brought me to this slimmer single serve maker. What attracted me was that it would accommodate my single serve pods or I could use the included option of brewing a cup using ground coffee. This insert could also be used to brew fresh tea using ground tea leaves. This was perfect since I usually only drink one cup of coffee in the morning , but like to brew various teas for other occasions. My only problem was the amount it could brew each time. It cannot brew more than a 14 oz swing at a time. If you over fill the water reservoir, the water starts dribbling out before you can get your mug in place. I was more used to a 16 oz mug, so it took a few times to get my timing correct or having to get a new mug.

Doesn't work. Don't buy.
Another viewer had the exact same problem and I quote the review: I agree with everything in this review.1.0 out of 5 stars STOPPEDD WORKING in 4 months (started having problems in 4 months. Stopped at 5 mos.Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2024Color: Black - Fast BrewingVerified PurchaseI've used this machine 4 ow months - overall I find it poorly designed and hard to use. It is difficult to clean, and requires cleaning every few days because the plastic and aluminum pods clogged the needles and often explode in the pod holder making a huge mess! Using compostable pods will eliminate the problem but they are most costly. I have several other Hamilton Beach appliances that are fantastic. Last week the coffee maker started acting up - turns off before full cup is brewed, and sometimes doesn't get hot enough for any water to drip. I couldn't get appropriate help on the seller's website so I called and reported the problem directly to Amazon, who is crediting me for the purchase. Also, their customer service does not accept phone calls - you do everything by email and the process is slow and rather pointless. Shop around, spend more money and get a machine that is well-designed, well-constructed and has a good warranty. I'm going with Keurig in the future. One person found this helpful

Mostly OK
This one is a mixed review. I really like the coffee maker as it's the smaller version of the dual coffee maker from Hamilton Beach that I had before (that one used pods and had a carafe for using grounds and making larger pots of coffee). The problem that I had with this one is that there are a couple of buttons on the side to make coffee either BOLD or REG. I could never get the REG button to work consistently, so I contacted Hamilton Beach directly. Their solution was to send them $14.99 for shipping and handling (which I did) and they would send me a new coffee maker. I guess that was about the best I could expect, but in the end it cost me more than I was originally prepared to pay for a new coffee maker.
