I have used Gingher scissors for as long as I have been sewing, which is about 65 years. They are beautifully made and hold up to a lot of abuse. These are very sharp and the hinge is tight so the blades work their entire length. I have hear people complain that their scissors loosen up and stop working properly. This is not a fault of any scissor but of the user. You cannot drop your scissors on your work surface over and over again without causing damage. Your scissors are a tool and you should respect them as such. By the way, did you know that Gingher will sharpen and adjust your scissors free of charge, less the mailing cost? Contact them for the address to send them too. You should never trust your scissors to a fabric or hardware store. Most people who sharpen knives don't have the correct tools to sharpen scissors. The only place I would trust mine, other than with Gingher, is at a Hair salon where. Their scissors have special edges and need special care. Talk to your hairdresser and find out who she uses.

love these for trimming threads - they are super sharp - so watch yourself and I love the little scaber that comes with it to protect the point

It says the scissors were made in Germany, but embossed in the scissors it clearly says "made in Italy". They may be a German brand, made in Italy, so why didn't the description say this? Also the small case for the scissors is not leather as advertised. It is leatherette. Not a big deal, but tell the truth, people! I haven't used the scissors yet, but they appear to be good quality. I tested the sharpness and they seem fine.

Excellent finish, cuts fabric and craft paper very smoothly. Delivery before due date provided by the excellent seller. Highly recommended for future buyers. The leather sheath prevents tip from getting damaged during accidental drops. Five stars

I needed a small pair of really sharp scissors to cut wool and wool felt for appliqué designs. These are perfect. When they arrived they were a bit tight and hard on the fingers, but I just used a small screw driver to loosen the screw a bit and that solved the problem.

Also ich habe die Schere bereits vor drei Jahren gekauft und war mehr als happy. Dann habe ich sie verloren und sofort wieder gekauft. Nicht zu vergleichen mit herkömmlichen Scheren, super scharf und das über einen sehr langen Zeitraum unter Dauernutzung.
