perfect size for making grilled cheese sandwiches. Cast Iron, black glaze on the surface enamel on the exterior. Le Creuset is really one of the finest cookware line made. Dishwasher safe.

This is horrible. It's only about 1/2" deep, so food and grease splatters all over the range top. Even making pancakes, the shortening splatters outside the pan, creating a mess. All they had to do was make this deeper and all would be fine. It's going to the thrift shop.

This is a nicely made little griddle. Handles just big enough to grab and move it about. It's cute rather than practical in my opinion. The black enamel interior needs oil or butter to work. It may resemble a cast iron surface, but it is a black roughly enameled surface. My biggest gripe is the cooking surface is really small. You can make grilled cheese sandwich for one or two people, but that is about it. It's a single person's pan. The surface is touchy to manage for a lot of foods. I find I prefer straight cast iron like the Le Crueset outdoor collection or a low cost american cast iron griddle. My very old smooth enamel interior Le Creuset skillets outperform this surface for me. I'm trying to leave no stick behind in my cooking life, but this will not be the pan to replace it.

Confession I bought this solely because I thought it would look pretty in my kitchen. In hopes to replace my cast iron pan I have had for years. Well it is adorable but cannot compare to an actual cast iron. Don’t waste your money. Unless you really want a baby size adorable one. It’s useless. I’m going back to the real deal cast iron.
