This is a good quality solder wick. The flux that is on the copper braid helps to "wet" the melted solder so that it is absorbed into the braid. Using a solder sucker first to get most of the solder and then following with the wick leaves a fairly clean area. It is easy to use, but you need to hold the part or circuit board with a helping hand so that you have two hands available for the job. One hand holds the wick at the part to be desoldered and the other hand holds the iron/wick against the part. A typical solder joint may use an inch or more of wick to really get it clean. overall, the product is effective for the intended job.

First time using solder wick and it seems to work very well, however I cannot seem to get the last bit of solder up. Used to have a solder sucker but the tips on those wear out or get clogged too quickly so this is the better product by far, works faster and gets the majority removed quickly and easily. Good value for the money but just wish it worked a bit better for those last portions.

The plastic roll it comes in is a bit hard to open and close, but it’s easy to just pull out a bit at a time when it is closed by leaving a bit hanging out. It does the job well, but be sure to cut into small strips when using so the whole roll does not act like a heat sync.

I’m fairly new to soldering, so take this from a beginner’s perspective. I used this TOWOT Solder Wick Braid 10ft Desoldering Wick while working on a few small electronics repairs. Pros: Does eventually remove solder Comes with a decent length of wick Easy to handle and position Cons: Doesn’t seem to heat up and absorb solder very efficiently Required extra effort and time compared to what I expected Even after adding a bit of fresh solder, it still struggled to wick cleanly In actual use, I found that it would eventually get the job done, but not very quickly or smoothly. I had to go over the same spots multiple times, and it didn’t seem to transfer heat as well as I thought it would. This made the process a bit frustrating, especially as someone still learning. Overall: It works, but not as efficiently as I was hoping. It might be okay for light or occasional use, but beginners may find it a bit harder to work with than expected.
