Amazing Little Machine
My previous dolce gusto machine had gone to 'coffee heaven' after 10 faithful years. Being limited on space I decided to buy a smaller model that I could leave on the worktop , as it gets used so much. The piccolo xs is the perfect size for a smaller family and due to the dimensions takes up the same space as an average size kettle. The machine is so easy to use and clean. My favourite drink is cappuccino and the hot chocolate and the great thing is that with the offer of 6 free boxes of pods I got to try lots of other flavours too, my current drink of choice is the vanilla latte. When you work out how much a coffee is from the leading chain, this machine pays for itself after a few weeks if you have a drink everyday. I couldn't live without it.

Makes good coffee
My only gripe is the new shape of the water reservoir. There’s no easy way to pick it up. You need two hands because of its shape and with my arthritic right hand it’s very awkward to fill.

Good value easy to use
I have another older model, this one is practically the same, a little smaller and a little more stylish. My mother keeps saying she thinks it looks like a robot- I’m guessing that’s from R2D2 Star Wars. This is a brilliant coffee machine and with such a variety of coffee pods it would be difficult not to find a few you really like, my favourites are cafe au laiu intenso, decaf and Anericano.Extremely easy to use which is handy when you are half asleep in the mornings.🙂I would definitely recommend it

Good MANUAL option
Took me ages to find a manual machine as descriptions are always a bit unclear until you read the reviews. I chose this model because it's manual i.e. you have to judge/control the amount of water. I know this is a disadvantage for lots of people who like the barcode-reading machines but I just don't like the automatic options as you never seem to get a full cup. Personally I would rather have a nice full mug than what's apparently the 'perfect' amount of coffee. If you are having the coffees with milk pods it may take some time to get quantities right but I only have Americano and add my own milk so it suits my purposes fine.Model is compact so good for a small kitchen.Coffee seems hot although as I use cold milk I tend to blast in microwave! So far so good.

This pesky machine doesn't automatically switch off.
Also the black cup stand could connect more firmly because my cup nearly toppled over.Although this pod machine was okay-ish, my previous Nescafé Dolce Gusto Piccolo wsas much better and had auto shut-off.The Dolce Gusto coffee pods, ie. Americano taste weaker. Cappuchino remins good though I am not overly impressed with the coffee taste, and neither is my husband, a coffee lover.

Not impressed!
I've had this for 6 weeks lovely at first but has stopped working! We have put a new fuse in it and tried other sockets but still did not work please advise?

Machine great. Special offer hard work
This was to replace my existing machine (same make), which had seen long, hard service and produced great coffee. This one seems fine and the coffee (strong and black) tastes just as good. It was really difficult to find out how to claim the free coffee pods which were a big influence on my purchasing decision. If you're struggling here is some advice. Don't spend hours looking for a link on Amazon, got to the Dolce Gusto site. Before you go photograph your receipt and the serial number of the machine. I shall update this review if and when the free pods arrive. UPDATE. I never did get my pods - after wasting all that time. I complained to Amazon and they refunded me the cost of the pods. Well done Amazon but Nescafe should not be allowed to getaway with this con trick.

Won't take the size of cups pictured next to it!!
Crazy. This machine cannot take the standard tall glass cups that are pictured standing next to it!!!!! You have to remove the drip tray and then put up with drips afterwards plus risk the possibility of the cup falling over if you don't hold on to it as there's a small platform which supports the drip tray which remains in place when the drip tray is removed.
