The Boy With Big, Big Feelings Review: Cute social-emotional book - Super cute and catchy storyline. Working on emotional recognition and control with my special needs son and he seems to take to this book well. Day 1 and he’s asked to read it 5 times. Review: Lovely book that encourages boys to not hide or be ashamed of their feelings. - In a world that tells boys/men to stuff their feelings, this Lovely book encourages boys (and girls) to not hide or be ashamed of their feelings. It teaches that true friends can share their good & bad feelings with each other without judgement. The message is simple and rhythmic, and the illustrations are endearing. I have a 3 year old son and 8 year old son. They both enjoyed the book. The youngest loved the illustrations & expressions on the children’s faces. The oldest was not as impressed, but it opened up an opportunity to discuss the message more in depth. As a mom, it is a beautiful tool I can use to teach my boys that their feelings matter.

Great book for young kids!!
I feel like it helps young kids to understand that they are not alone in their feelings and that it is ok to feel their feelings.

Good for 6 year old
My grandson's parents are divorcing, and he's having some issues dealing with it. I got him this book, to help him open up with me and talk. After reading it, I thought it might be to advanced for hi. To understand, but he really likes the book, and asks to read it frequently.

It gave voice to feelings that children have!
My nephew loved it so much that I took it to his class on a family reading day. The artwork was different but once explained to the children they got the emotions tied to it. The feelings described by the main character were relatable to all the children & it opened a floodgate of emotions that they wanted to share. Would probably be a game changer for a toddler with repressed feelings or for one that just lives to share.

Self Awareness, & Affirmations of Big Emotions
Britney has done such a wonderful job with this book. She has really captured what it is like to experience emotions. To have a big heart and big emotions and that those are OKAY. The fact that she is writing from the perspective of a young boy is not to be missed. In a society that tells our young boys not to feel emotions, Britney wades in with a delicate boldness. My five-year-old experiences life with a speech delay and many sensory needs. This book continues to open the doors of communication with him. There is much representation in Britney's books and this one is no different. There is comfort in feeling seen - knowing you're not the only one with big emotions. A gem for any home library or teacher's socio-emotional toolkit!

I'm working in early childhood education and when I was working with some children with bigger feelings this book was so handy. I have had children relate to it and when they are having a hard time we would take this book out and read it to find out how they feel and if that can relate to the boy in the book a bit. I especially love that the book goes over bigger feelings than happy, sad, mad. It leaves opportunities for expansion on feelings like overwhelmed for example and explaining those other types of feelings to children. This book is simply put for younger children nearing kindergarten or older.

Met mijn 2-jarige kleinzoon vertel ik gewoon wat we zien op de prentjes. Of ik vraag wat hij ziet. Het voorleesverhaal vind ik nog te moeilijk, maar dat komt nog wel.
