Yuki Cross, along with her best friend Zero, attempts to keep the peace between humans and vampires at Cross Academy, but personal issues soon threaten the situation. Review: Anime from an old Victorian novel - Want to watch vampire knight and vampire knight guilty then this is for you. So this is from a vampire shojo goth love triangle series from the early to mid 2000. It has some great opening and ending themes, and while it doesn’t do the original manga art style justice it does the best it can. It has the same goth vibe as the manga which is enjoyable. The series is about Yuki who was saved as a young child by a pure blooded vampire named kaname. Pure bloods can turn humans into vampires who will eventually fall to level e and basically become unthinkable monsters. Meanwhile zero her step brother family was killed by a mad vampire and each character has a mystery to them. For example Yuki has no memories as child, and what is her connection to kaname? What is zeros secret history and past? Wait? Is he turning into a vampire? All questions will be answered and no we never got a third season but it does answer the mysteries but opens new ones that will explained in the third season- that we will probably never get. So vampire knight has gothic vibe and an interesting mystery and interesting main characters and side characters. However Yuki is kinda not liked in this anime, so doesn’t do her manga counterpart justice but considering her situation it’s understandable. Also I’m pretty sure in the English dub she is the only one saying kaname name right instead of the other way around. Despite all this I would recommend this series - you have a long triangle, vampires, mysterious past and a gothic feel that reminds me of an old Victorian novel. While the story could use some improvements I do recommend it, and I do think the English voice actors are doing a good job. Review: anime - this is a great anime to watch

Season 1 boxset of Vampire Knight is pretty cool.
If you love Vampire Knight, then you'll love having this boxset. I appreciate boxsets of series I'm going to watch over and over again because they take less shelf space. The voice acting is great in both Japanese and English. The animation is beautiful. The characters are deep. The story about the politics of vampires is intriguing. The 5 star rating is totally for the series itself. However, I am extremely disappointed in Viz's packaging. While I patiently waited for a boxset to come out, I was annoyed by the packaging. The DVDs themselves are flip discs. In other words, there's no artwork on the DVDs because you have to play side A and then flip it to side B. I hate those kinds of DVDs. They are extremely easy to scratch. It makes me reluctant to buy the season 2 boxset, which I really want. I'm hoping that Viz will make more of an effort and package the 2 seasons into 1 boxset without using flip discs. (I'm not sure if that's the technical name for them. It's just what I call them.) I would have much rather had 3 DVDs and paid a few dollars more than the flips. Also, there was no insert artwork in the sleeve. If I didn't love this series so much, I wouldn't have bothered buying the DVDs. Viz's new approach to saving money making DVDs is making me want to save money not buying them.

Good to have it in my collection
I watched it on Netflix years ago and now that I started collecting physical blu-rays, I'm glad to have it in my collection

Lovely Box Set and Epic Show
I originally saw Vampire Knight because my best friend pestered me to watch it, and I was hooked by the end of episode one. The show captured my imagination -and my heart- for the vampires. For me, thats saying something, since I don't normally like vampires. I've been toying with Learning Japanese since I first saw Vampire Knight, and I now find the original Japanese somewhat useful when wanting to see if they said what I think they did. I enjoy both languages of the show, though I chiefly prefer the English dub since I adore the wonderful cast they have, and it was the first way I saw the show. ---Packaging and DVD's--- The version I saw was the Copy the library had, and while it initially disappointed me -at least a little- at the fact that the first disk is double sided, however, I'm completely used to it. Recently I decided I wanted to see it again, and so I bought season one. Please note that when the Description says 'Complete Series' 'Series' in this case means 'Season', so no one gets confused. The case is the size of a normal DVD case, with a slip cover. Episodes 1-4 are on Disk 1 Side A, while Episodes 5-8 are on Disk 1 Side B. Episodes 9-13 are on Disk 2 along with a Relationship Chart. My case came with a sample chapter of the first Manga inside, though everyone else says theirs is empty. All-in-all, a great product, and a wonderful show to watch again and again!

Great DVD Collection
This was a great series. I definitely recommend reading the Manga if you are a fan. It has many elements that you may not see in the DVD. But the series was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. It is available to watch in both English and Japanese. So no worries if you want to see this in English (It's Dubbed). I really liked the emotion in this series. They captured love, hate, and all the complexities within the series very well. And the comic relief is very good; Idol really takes that home. The characters Kaname, Zero, and Yuki are represented well and this is a must see for anyone who enjoys Vampire/Romance/Anime. It is a great one to watch and I recommend it for anyone who read the Manga.

Exactly As Advertised
Of course it helps that Vampire Knight is such a wonderful series itself, but the DVD is in great shape, arrived quickly, and has all the episodes and features it boasted. The entire Season 1 is on there with some really neat cover art on the inside and outside of the case. It comes in Japanese with English subtitles and English dub (a relief if you're like me and had to watch the show on hulu the first time in only Japanese!). I would recommend this purchase to anyone who is a fan of the series and would like it in his/her collection. The show has adult themes but is safe for any child 13 and older. For me, this is one of the best stories surrounding the vampire saga I've seen in a long time. ("Twilight" and others greatly pale in comparison.) Hope you enjoy!
