Several mode to choose!
Looks great! Can be used in chicken, pork, fish and beef also. And also can choose rare, medium or well. it would be perfect to cook tomahawk steak and juicy chicken breast. Can't wait to use.

Works fine, but one really annoying quirk....
Normally use a probe for cooking as I'm the worst for making sure food is overcooked to be on the safe side.Really liked the look of this with its steel braided cable, allowing you to leave this in the oven & have the display panel out where you can view it, excellent!!It seems accurate & the display even lets you select which type of meat you're monitoring. My gripe is the on/off switch.....it doesn't auto switch off to save battery, so you need to remember to put it off, otherwise it's flat batteries!! Surely they could have set it to go off after maybe 30 mins, since you're leaving it in the food. So, switch off &......it forgets everything!! What meat you're cooking & very annoyingly, it clicks back to Fahrenheit....I've switched it to Celsius every time, but it always goes back to factory settings!! Yes, it works, but I really find this to be incredibly annoying.Maybe I'm being harsh, but put the smallest amount of memory in it, it'd be a huge improvement!! Ok, if Fahrenheit works for you, great, bump it up to 4 stars, but for me, it's three.

It seems to be hitting the right temperatures, which is great.
I was pleased to try this 'Teplom Food Thermometer Digital Instant Read Meat Thermometer with Backlit Display Stainless Steel Probe Magnet and Timing Function Best for Cooking and BBQ Milk Water Jam'. My current meat thermometer has failed - it told me that a joint of pork was cooked but it was far from being cooked. This one seems to be hitting the right temperatures, which is great. It is a neat size at 8cm square x 2.1cm deep - the unit comes with the stainless steel probe (with a little cover over the tip) attached to flexible wire and small plug, two AAA batteries and an instruction leaflet. The batteries go into an easy open compartment on the reverse of the unit but unfortunately mine did not work. Luckily I had some new AAA's to use and they were fine. The switch to turn it on is on the side and it always defaults to Fahrenheit. You have to 'long press' the mode button to change it to Celsius, which I prefer to use. This is a bit of a pain to do each time but doesn't take long. The first figure is the ambient room temperature and the second figure is the desired meat type and temperature, that you set with the 'MEM' and 'Up' buttons. To read it easily you press the down button and the screen illuminates orange for a few seconds. You can also set a timer, which is handy. You should wash the probe before first use and from there it is very simple indeed to get perfectly cooked meat each time. I do like that you can have the probe in the meat while it is cooking, rather than the type that you have to have the door open, letting the heat out, while you test the meat. You can fix the unit to the outside metal of the oven as it has two magnets on the back, or it has a little pull out stand. The current price of £14.44 is fair, in my opinion but it would have been better if my included batteries had worked.

So innacurate
Bought this some time ago but only just used it on a roast beef joint. If I had relied on the temperature reading the roast would have been burnt to a cinder. Complete rubbish.

Temperature looks to be spot on.
I have something like this, but it does not have the same functionality. I have been cooking with that one sometime and I thought it to be accurate.I took some boiling water and put both probes into it at the same time to see if there was any difference between them. This one from Teplorn did get to the max temperature fasting than my current one but was reading 3-degrres C below mine. As the temperature of the water went down, they both dropped while still maintaining the difference. So, I added a 3rd Thermometer and that was the same temp as this one from Teplorn, meaning my original one must be out. With this Teplorn food thermometer you have several ways to cook your food: by time, by temperature or by pre-set temperature. By pre-set, I mean you can select a cow and have your beef cooked Well Done, Medium or Rare. With the other meats e.g., Chicken, Pork, Lamb and Fish there is only one pre-set temperature for them. When your meat hits a certain temperature, then the alarm goes off.My only proviso with using the pre-set temperature is whether you are going to let you r meat stand for a while before serving. I tend to do this with roast beef, so I remove it from the oven before it reaches the right temperature, as it is wrapped in foil and will keep cooking. Bar that, it works well. The wire is a good length and thin enough to be in between your oven door, so you can have it sitting in the food while cooking.Personally, I prefer to cook my meat by temperature, rather than other means and this device is ideal for that.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.
