After spending hours researching for a battery tester, I decided on this one. And wow, it’s been the perfect one (for me) so far! I’ve got 3 cars to look out for and this tester has worked great on every car, every time. Excellent quality. Easy to use. Wire length is good. And, all for a cheap price. Very happy with it!

I've had this little gem for about 8 years now. I'm impressed with the quality and versatility for such a low price. I own several vehicles and test the batteries about twice per year, to ward off any problems. It works on all types of 12V batteries, with an option to test while installed or disconnected for increased accuracy.One VERY nice feature is the charging system test. An alternator's diode pack can fail and cause damaging voltage spikes that most meters can't discern. This tester is designed specifically to catch this particular fault. If you've got some unexplained electric gremlins, be sure to use this feature and possibly save yourself some grief.

This inexpensive tool is terrific. Easy to use. Seems quite accurate as it confirmed my suspicions about both my vehicle's batteries. My mechanic recommended the one getting replaced and this tool confirmed him. I suspected my truck battery and the tool also confirmed that one. In addition to simply saying "replace" or "good", it gives data: CCA, internal resistance, % charge and health status. Really helpful. And easy to use. I highly recommend this tool.

This is capable of testing car batteries and more, for instance I have a 9 year old car with the original battery in it. The group 35 battery used in this car is rated at around 500 CCA (cold cranking amps) and this tester shows it has only 196 even with the battery fully charged. Whereas the new everstart battery bought to replace it shows 690 CCA, even though it is only the value line $70 battery. (The internal resistance value gets higher as cca goes down, that value is shown as well) That is only the beginning of what the ancel can test, it will also analyze the starting and charging systems. Manual included but so far haven’t read it all so can’t report on how easy it is to understand. It’s intuitive enough for someone with a little experience to follow screen prompts and set the cca rating as found on battery. Even at 196 cca this car always starts, though it does crank slower than it should. Hot temperatures are a key factor in hastening the demise of a battery, but cold weather is when it’s noticed more. Fall is a good time to test so your vehicle won’t let you set in winter.
