The pick is wonderful ! I love the smooth wood - it`s a awesome throw back to me ,with my motherhaving a " natural , and me inheriting her curls with 3B growing up.I lost my curls to chemo years back, my hair just did never retain it`s past natural state,and missing it so much I recently underwent a curly perm -now getting back to Curly Girl care and habits. This pick looked to be, and now proved a Must Have,as it did for my former hair.You cannot go wrong with the wood. No burrs or rough edges of teeth, or static that plastic can have , not rusting as metal can do , that can damage hair.The wood is gentle, wet or dry hair.The teeth are evenly and sufficiently spaced for my curls.The longer handle and teeth are actually optimal for control of the pick while detangling, styling,lifting, and defining.The handle, and handling of pick is comfortable.I cannot recommend enough - so very pleased.
