Tried quite a few things to get rid of the birds that were pooping all over my front porch. This worked. Wish I tried it first.

My prayers have been answered! No more bird nests in my screened gazebo! This product does EXACTLY what it claims to do. It keeps the birds off!

My first purchase which was sold by "Amazon" it was constructed very well, the spikes were securely attached to the plastic base, I had zero problems with installation. I decided to purchase a second box, unfortunately this box was sold by "Quality Knobs and Hardware". The construction of this product was totally different. Upon opening the box, I noticed spikes were already dislocated from the plastic base, also the spikes fell off easily during installation. It was very frustrating. I wanted to return this second box, but I already installed half the box.Please make sure "Amazon" is the seller. Also when you receive the product, attempt to pull, or move the spikes, if the spikes cannot be removed and is held down firmly by the plastic holding it, then you have the good set.If there are loose spikes in the box and the spikes are removed easily, then you have the poorly constructed set and you should return them ASAP.I cannot post pictures, however the images shown on the product's page displays the "good secure" construction. Please zoom in and notice that the plastic is completely holding the spikes and the spikes cannot be pulled out. If you receive a set with a different construction, allowing the spikes to fall out easily, you should return the item.

I’ve used this product for YEARS (so I’ve learn A LOT about it - what it WILL do (and NOT do)).FYI/BTW - The Manufacturer “Claims” that their product is 100% effective - BUT, this is just NOT true.👎……(Or, Partially True)Overall, I’ve found that it does GREAT👍, with BIGGER birds 🦢 (like Pigeon’s and WoodPeckers — the latter of which are VERY distructive [and annoying🤢🤮]).This product STOPS 🛑 WoodPeckers (in their TRACKS 👍👍👍🎉) - as they HATE the spikes.Again, Pigeon also dislike them (the spikes).BUT, “Little” birds (like Sparrows [and liked size], actually LOVE ❤️ the Spikes, as they like to make their Nests in them — as the spikes actually many times PROTECT them 😱).But, for me, I am actually VERY Happy, as this product BLOCKS (for 95%) the two BIGGEST problem Birds [for me] that have given me HELL🔥(again, the WoodPeckers, and Pigeons).The WoodPeckers (for their obvious damage, and NOISE💥), and…The Pigeons (because they POOP 💩 (EVERYwhere), which turns into a Super-Hard CEMENT🪨 😡🤬).So EVERYONE out there (who is thinking 🤔 of this product):1) SKIP this product (if you have a “Small” Bird problem), and2) BUY this product (if you have a BIG bird 🦅 problem).It’s THAT SIMPLE 😂👍BUT, you can actually “Improve” on this product (and make it even MORE effective).And thus, you can significantly Increase Effectiveness by “Sharpening” the spikes (with a Course File tool). It takes a lot of time to redo this, but it makes [increases] its effectiveness, by about 70% [or more], as it makes this item more potentially “deadly.”Some may think this is inhumane, but the alternative is [continued] Bird infestation and damage🤷🏻‍♂️.(2nd PS/BTW - I ALSO like this product (over others) because it allows you to “adjust” [and/or modify] the size/length (by cutting) — while others are made from Metal, so are harder to adjust).My 2 Cents 🪙

These come fully assembled unlike others that require you to put together each spike into a frame. The ends are male-female so the pieces will click together to extend the length to your need. I have them on my window security grill where a lot of wild birds would perch and wait to be fed - yes, I feed our wild birds but don't appreciate the mess they leave on my window sills, and the birds look much nicer waiting in the trees and shrubs than on my windows. The width is small enough that even finches and sparrows can't sit in between so it works well for larger birds like pigeons and doves too. I use zip ties to secure these on the security grill so if you are planning to use them on a projecting surface like a window sill you'll have to figure a way to secure them - something like U shaped nails would probably work. The spikes are thin and the frame is clear plastice so these really aren't noticable and won't make your windows or roofline look like prison wire.

Works okay for birds and squirrels. It does not work for racoons.

Very happy with these. My first attempt to keep away birds nesting under my deck and I bought different types of bird spikes from different companies. I prefer the Bird-X types since they come assembled. It takes *forever* to put together the metal kind with the separate spikes. Also, I appreciate that whatever plastic they are made out of, this plastic trims easily with wire shears, without shattering. The only thing I wish I had understood better before my first order of Bird-X is that they come in 1-foot and 2-foot lengths. It would have been better if I had noticed this and ordered the 2-foot lengths for my specific application.
