Solid product a must have!
This cage is AWESOME for the hero 5 black..if you have a external mic like the rode video micro it is perfect! Just got mine set up today and am so stoked!! I also added the spacer to ensure none of the dead cat will be in the frame when shooting. I used the "Foto4easy 3/8"to Cold Foot..." spacer on Amazon witch fits into the video micro perfectly!! So amped, this is the 1st review I've ever posted.

Great Case for the Hero 5 Black
With the introduction of the H5 camera being fully waterproof, these aluminum cases offer even more value than before over their plastic counterparts. This case is perfectly designed and fits the H5B perfectly. There are cutouts for everything. Even in the back there is a small cutout for the LED record light that is ever so slightly on the edge of the backing. That is a really nice touch! I like how this one has a back that slides in to stop the camera from moving backwards versus the older version for the H3/H4. It fits so snug you probably don't need the screwdown on the right hand side of the device. The back has a ball detent that doesn't allow it to come up on you while it's in use. You have to push that ball back in to get the door back on if you take it all the way off.To get the camera out all you have to do is slide up the back door, give the side adjust a twist and boom it pops out. So much easier than the snap shell from GoPro.Just remember to put a dab of Loctite blue on the threads of the GoPro Mount in the bottom to ensure you don't have a GoPro flying off inadvertently. You get a lanyard included as well so that you can tie it off to something just in case. Also bring you GoPro tightening tool with you if you are using plastic mounts with this one. The aluminum likes to slide inside the plastic mounts to you have to tighten it down real good to get it to stay in place. Now I wish they made this in different colors. I would have loved to have a Blue One.

Great design
This is a nicely designed housing for the GoPro Hero5. Sturdy and fits perfectly. Now, I got it primarily to improve the sound by using a Rode Videomicro, which works great with the GoPro and the Luxebell housing. However, if you use the deadcat over the microphone (see my photos) the deadcat will show in the frame. So I purchased a hot shoe riser to solve that problem. The riser I found at amazon was the "Foto4easy 3/8" to Cold Foot Screw Adapter for Camera Hot Shoe Mount Double Nut Flash Holder." I chose the 3/8" male screw because the female screw receptacle on the Rode Videomicro is 3/8".

Stands Up to Hard Use.
I use my GoPro on my recumbent race bike. The plastic Frame broke within 60 days, probably from a combination of vibration and repeated adjustments because it would move forward if I went through a dip. The Luxebell is a bit heavier than the plastic Frame, but being made of aluminum it is far more durable, and it is easier to torque the mounting bracket tight enough to hold it stable without breaking the fins on the bottom of the case. (My GoPro bike mount is aluminum, from ccfinecut. Amazon sells a variety of others).Positives: A cutout on the back plate that lets you see the red LED that indicates recording. It is easy to plug in a USB cable and to reach all the buttons while the camera is in this case. Aluminum, not plastic.Minor small negatives, which are far outweighed by the positive aspects. First, the screw that is designed to hold the camera steady will back out due to vibration, and will buzz once it is slightly loose. I used a flat rubber band to keep it from backing out. Second, the camera will vibrate in the housing once the screw loosens. I solved this with a few pieces of foam tape in the Skeleton. The camera slides in over the foam tape and is stable even without the screw being tightened. Third, the aforementioned screw can actually vibrate all the way out of the case and get lost. Mine did, while the bike was transported on the bike rack, hence the 4-star rating for durability. Finally, it is a little heavier than plastic.

Highly recommended!!!
Definitely a robust case for my GoPro Hero 6. To take the camera in and out is super easy. I also like the option to include filters on the lens. Heavier than the plastic factory case but it feels like it can withstand a fall at 120 mph and still still protect the camera. Highly recommended.

Sturdy, best build I've found, if not a little pricey
Of the few cases of this kind I've tried, I like this the best, though I wish someone would make one out of a synthetic material that wouldn't scratch the GoPro. Fit is tight, the back door is an added security feature. I like that I can attach the cold shoe to the top or side, though I find it comes loose quite easily; I think it would be best to find a place you like and loctite it down. Didn't really want to spend this much for a case like this, but I found it was much better than the ones that were half the price.
