A wonderful book for any age! It is aimed at grade school children, but the story and the wonderful pictures are so great, that anyone will enjoy this book. It also has several wonderful messages to everyone. It's all about helping and saving a trapped whale to live.

I saw this book when I was looking for books on unusual animal friendships. We are not the only species that has the capacity to love and care for animals in trouble. This is. perfect for my growing library.

It is short and simple. But it made me cry. It is told in a beautiful way. Not overdone. The one thing I didn't like was the last page in the book that said something like "scientists believe whales MAY be capable of feeling emotions...we don't know for sure...but the people in this story claim this was one of the most amazing experiences of their lives" UM c'mon. Whales are sentient, intelligent beings and they are definitely capable of emotions as are most all animals. Watch the documentary Black Fish. That kind of put a bad taste in my mouth as the message of the book is about a whale connecting with a human without language and expressing its gratitude, but nonetheless the book is a really beautiful story.

This is such a beautiful book. The images and the story work so well together and the ending is so moving. I love this true story <3

What a wonderful story! My grandson loves humpback whales, and this true story has something to say for children & adults. The illustrations are fantastic, too.

This is an amazing non-fiction book that tells a wonderful story. I highly recommend this book!! The illustrations are as magical as the story.
