Handy extra school work
Got this to help out my grandson in his school lessonsEasy to follow and use They were some questions we got a bit confused (I hadn't a clue and seems they was not teaching in schools ) So this book gives a good all rounded choice of questions etcMy grandson found it a bit hard maybe for a older child But it's great learningGood qualityRecommended

Single-use workbook covering 6-12 plus larger numbers, reasonably good value
This a stage up from when my 7 yo currently is in KS1 but it's a handy indicator of what to expect next year compared to the 'good old days' of just reciting times tables! The book is structured in a similar way to lessons with a starter, example and then some practice but obviously due to the nature of this quite a lot of pages are taken up with the theory rather than the practice which really isn't enough if the reason for buying was to get some additional practice in - as it is essentially 'single-use' it can be a bit tricky to persuade kids to erase and repeat rather than seeing it as a one-shot affair - I think I would prefer to see a couple of pages of practice per topic and would be prepared to pay a little more as a result. That said at £3 and 48 pages covering 6-12 multiplication and division plus 2 and 3 digit numbers, this is pretty good value compared to some of the super thin workbooks on offer. The text and layout seem overly spread out so I'm sure they could have squeezed much more in, though it depends on the reason for needing it - as a supplement to school learning, some more practice would be nicer, for learning from first principles it's a useful starting point to also aid adults. The illustrations of random kids seems a little unnecessary at this age, though the 'real world' examples such as counting chairs, tables, cakes and all manner of other everyday scenarios is helpful in understanding why this type of maths is both useful and needed in daily life. Not great, not terrible.

Great children's workbook
This is a great exercises book.Aim at junior school children in KS2 (ages 8-9)The book is filled with a number of activities to help your child improve their maths skills.Topics covered include multiplying and dividing by a range of numbers, before moving onto harder 2 digit and 3 digit numbers (some which will have a renaming in there answer)Each task starts off with a explanation and an example so you can talk your child through to see if they understand before they answer the questions. The questions are quick and simple with your child only needing to write a number, draw a line to the correct answer, however on some of the harder questions there is a space for your child to work out the answer.Answers (if needed) are to the back of the book. There are fun characters throughout the book which makes it more appealing for young childrenExcellent quality book from DK.Great value for moneyWill be purchasing the other workbooks in the rangeWould highly recommend
