News Flash: It's supposed to be immersive, so you ARE paying to dump the cable.
Holy insanely great. Fine, it's not the most powerful VR rig, but when you're on batteries, you want the most appropriate gear, not the biggest power load. For a 1st gen, it's amazing. Expensive? Yes, but are VR rigs cheap? No. If you're value shopping as a primary concern, get a bunch of long cables, a cheaper PC, spend 80% as much. For 20% less $$ you are on an umbilical cord, and frankly, you feel it all the time :(If you want to actually jump around like an animal in a completely immersive VR right now... click buy, and make some serious space in your garage/basement because you're about to lose your mind. Better yet, get two, and forget about all the other games you used to play against your family on the couch.

Incredible machine
Well, this is my daily machine. Have been using it over a year and love the performance. It has completely spoiled both laptops and desktops for me!As a VR machine, it is pretty awesome - so far it has run everything I've thrown at it without as much as a glitch or stutter. I'd love a bigger SSD out of the box, but it has spare bays so you can upgrade both the RAM and the storage. Add a bluetooth keyboard pico projector and this is a mind-blowing portable supercomputer in a beautiful form factor.I'm not kidding-it's a head-turner. I wear it to meetings and presentations, carry it on flights and regularly get asked what it is. Overall, a beautiful and highly powerful machine. Love it.

I like it. It does have some small things wrong
I like it. It does have some small things wrong. The first I think is that the smaller cables put more force than I am comfortable with on the ports they plug into. If there was a built in way to reduce that, I would be giving it 5 stars. You will run into small issues with steamvr on this, make sure you have a monitor and a DP cable just in case.

Great VR PC, but missing a cable
Bought this to run my HTC Vive headset. Upon setup I discovered they chose not to include a mini display port cable ($80 @ best buy, $8 @ amazon). Since it has only has 1 HDMI port, it requires this to be able to see (on a monitor) how to setup the headset. The performance has been great though, completely satisfied.

Broken power port twice!
This is the second time the power port for the headset has broken. Last time I had to fight MSI to get them to replace it. It is the most poorly designed piece of equipment I have ever owned. The entire structure for the power cord is held on by two solder points on the motherboard. The only way to fix it is to replace the entire motherboard. I do not abuse my computer. I am extremely careful with all my equipment. For a $2500 computer made specifically to work with the HTC Vive this is the MOST important part of the system! And it’s solderered tonthe motherboard!? With no other support...and now it’s broke again rendering the system useless for wire free play on the Vive. Horrible design. And now MSI won’t warranty their poor design.

I like the idea very much and this model is powerful ...
I like the idea very much and this model is powerful for most games but I couldn't find spare battery for it. I use it with etc vive and now with Samsung odyssey mixed reality but with mixed reality there is no play area limit. I like it more than before
