NEW LIFE FOR OLD FRIEND
Didn't know the battery was replaceable. This fixed up the old ears which had gotten weaker and weaker. Installed well in spite of previous epoxy repair to case. Viva TV Ears.

This was perfect. It saved me over $100 by not having to buy new. My old set just had worn out batteries. I ordered this, and when it arrived, I followed the easy to understand directions. Boom! Works great! Would highly recommend!

It fit perfectly (after I removed a piece of the old one I hadn't seen) . Been using it, drains a little faster then the original, but still lasted about 2 hours.

DOA ... update: Makes static noise now ...
My grandmother lives in a retirement home and her loud TV was bothering neighbors. I installed the TV Ears 2.3 system and she absolutely loved it. I mean, she reeeeeally loved it. I assumed that with daily use, the battery pack would go out at some point. Well, after a few years, it died. This review is for the battery pack I ordered to replace the dead one. First, I was disappointed in the price. Then, to add to it, from the look of the reviews, it was a) a crapshoot whether it would perform even close to how it did prior and b) if it happened to not work, getting any sort of relief from the manufacturer would be difficult. I usually would not have taken the risk, but my grandmother would not allow me to install a corded system in place of the TV ears. I had to the TV Ears it working again. So, I installed the pack and it didn't work at all - nothing - no charge lights or anything. I have not contacted TV Ears yet, but the outlook is not good when considering other experiences. I will update this as I deal with the manufacturer. UPDATE: I removed the battery pack - let me mention here that the battery pack is held on with two tiny philips screws that are not only tiny but would prefer to strip than screw ... okay, that sounds really bad. I reinstalled it and tried to get it screwed on tighter, but walked a very fine line with a stripped screw being one slip away. Upon turning them on, again I heard nothing. Then, I squeezed the battery pack section against the headphones and heard static followed by silence. By squeezing it I was able to replicate this but got nothing better than static. I just saw that Costco has the set for sale again - I could just get her another set ... she is 91 after all.

Need to check headset before ordering batteryreplacement
I have had trouble with the TV Ears system since Day 1. I have had headsets replaced 3 or 4 tines. Now battery died (not complaining about that) and since I had a a TV Ears 3.0 I ordered a 3.0 battery replacement. Turns out that the current replacement headset was actually a a TV Ears 5.0 headset so battery replacement didn't fit. I spoke to TV Ears who told me if the headset has 3 screws it is a TV Ears 5.0 and if it has 2 screws, it is a TV Ears 3.0. Check your headset, not the system you bought, before you order.

New batteries
My two TV Ears headsets batteries discharged very fast after a couple of years of use making them useless after a few minutes. Removing the tiny screws to replace the batteries was almost impossible. After breaking the front cover and spending a couple of hours I finally got the cover off and the screws removed. The new cover including the battery was installed quickly and works as it is supposed to. I recommend that you make sure that you can remove the screws before ordering new batteries. It takes a tiny, I believe it's a #1 Phillips screwdriver. Good luck.

replacements
We found that the part of the TV ears that hold the battery were not made to allow us to put the battery in without messing it up - had to scotch tape it together - - didn't fit as well in the base -- - other than that - - no problem - worked well.

I have read the reviews on the B003VIW53S TV ears ...
I have read the reviews on the B003VIW53S TV ears battery replacement and have a few thoughts on the subject. I have used TV ears for over 5 years and own 4 sets on 4 different TV’s. Remember that batteries can only be charged so many times and should be replaced when they can no longer be charged to full capacity. If you are having trouble with your headpiece, it could be a problem with the transmitter unit or the receiver unit, not the battery. I have had to replace a transmitter base at least once because I had problems with low range, static, and weak signal. With multiple systems I am able to “switch around” to find the real problem.

As a replacement for TV ears 2.3 battery, this will not work, for TV watching. TV ears 2.3 only works with an analogue signal, so now TV in the UK is digital, there's no point in buying this battery. I wasted my £20...
