Q: I have an eos 70d would this be a good upgrade?

An RF lens will not work on the 70D. It only works on the Canon mirror less cameras. There is an EF 24-105 lens which would work on the 70D

Honestly, this is an amazing, sharp lens. I’ve never owned the EF version, but in my opinion, if you already have a great EF version that works on the R and your EF mount cameras, there is no need to buy the RF version. You can’t use the RF on both RF and EF mount cameras, whereas you can with your EF 24-105mm.

Q: how does it perform for landscape photos ? what if any rf lens for landscapes

I use the RF 24-105mm as my go-to lens on many nature and landscape outings. The 24mm end has enough wide-angle field of view to take in sky with foreground elements - f/16 and hyperfocal distance of 4 feet gives excellent depth of field on landscapes. I use 50mm for stitched panorama images. At the 105mm end, it is enough telephoto to isolate stands of trees or up-closer provide isolated details such as leaves. I am seeing a little better performance than with my prior Canon 24-105mm (non-RF) and recommend this as a walk-around and all-around lens.

Q: I have a canon M50, what adapter would i need to have to be able to use this Lens?

The M50 uses the Canon EF-M lens system; this lens is in the RF system and is NOT compatible and no adapters exist. The closest equivalent that works with the M50 is probably the Canon EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM.

OK but not great.

If this lens was under £1000 I would probably give it 5 stars. I’m just not impressed with the image quality compared to much cheaper options I’ve used in similar focal ranges.When I bought my R6 I had the choice of getting a converter and an older EF series lens or getting a new RF lens. I wish I chose the converter with an older lens. I’ve had Tamrons under £600 produce better images than this.Pros:- Great build quality- Great image stabilizationCons:- Not great sharpness for the price- Some focus breathing in my R6- Overpriced
