Is the seal ring on both sides or just one side?

Yes, the seal is on both sides. During this past year I changed my thermostat several times and I used this gasket each time. Each time the housing cane apart clean with no cleaning needed and the gasket looked like new each time.

Would this fit an Edelbrock Performer 2101 intake?

I believe it does small block and big block chevy water neck are the same size

Can you put this under a water neck that already has a groove under it for an O ring and ill just take the old failing O ring out before i install?

Thank you for your inquiry. The Fel Pro 35562T Water Outlet Gasket is not made for a water neck with a groove for an O-Ring. The seal on the 35562T is made to seal on a flat surface and if the seal of the gasket is in that groove it would leak.
