Great idea but poor quality and somewhat difficult to use
I got this piano for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. My first one did what happened to many other people. It stopped turning on after just two uses. My daughter really wanted a new one and so far this one is working. I think it's a great idea, but the music has been difficult for her to keep up with. I'm hoping she'll grow into it. She likes the games though. And she plays with it more just as a keyboard. It irritates me a little that you can't hear the keys play when the game cartridge is being used. You only hear the TV and I have to turn the TV way up to hear anything at all. Part of the way to learn is to hear what the key should sound like. I hate to give it such a low rate because I think it could be such a great thing, but it's probably better for older kids, like seven or eight years old and and older. And the quality isn't so hot for the price. I guess that is to be expected on the first run of anything.

learn to Play piano
I purchased this to help my Downe's Syndrome brother be able to make music on his own. I can't imagine preschool children using this successfully on their own, but with parental interaction it could be a great tool. The VERY slow speed was Ken's level, and he enjoyed it once he understood to wait for the symbol to reach the staff. This became a doable video game for him, which wasn't what I had in mind, but was fun, no less. The tunes are somewhat lost when you play them that slowly. Also, because of the interaction needed, I didn't feel I could send it with him to the group home where he lives--I'll wait for him to come here to play it with him. I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot--especially trying to perfect my scores on accuracy when playing one of the songs!

Piano Playing and Video Games in One!!!
My 6.5 year old daughter received this piano as an impulsive gift from Santa after she requested a real piano. Unsure of whether or not she truly wanted to learn how to play the piano, I opted to buy something much smaller and more affordable than a baby grand! It has turned into a huge hit. She is learning key placement and understanding notes. We have four cartridges that she uses to mix up the games and songs. When her friends come over, they are immediately drawn to it and ask to play as well. Some of the games even allow for two players which makes it very user friendly for playdates.

good if it wasnt broken
I bought one of these at a garage sale but it didnt work. I had spare cartridges that came with it along with the adapter which is why I decided to just buy another one off of Amazon so the extra parts didnt go to waste. But when I got the piano it was working just as bad as the one I threw away. So that one became trash as well. The plus side was that the delivery came extremely early and when I asked my seller for a refund, they didn't hesitate. 5/5 on delivery and customer service. Just wish that the piano was a 5/5 so my daughter was able to enjoy it.

DO NOT BUY, DOES NOT LAST, POWER ELECTRIC PROBLEM!!!
We got two full days out of this toy and then the MAJOR power problem started. It's now too late to return it, and it's become a fire hazard. They need to just do a recall on it! It won't turn on, it takes about 10 tries and if you are lucky enough to finally get something to work, it stops within about 2 notes and turns off. We are one of the lucky ones who hasn't yet had it not turn off and over heat. It is sad that Amazon and Fisher Price have joined together to keep selling a product that is dangerous electrically. Now for the game side. Its WAY too fast even for me a 33 year old mother to do any of the games. These are the ones marked for 5 year olds. Our son got nothing out of this, and we are very disappointed that we spent the money for a useless hunk of plastic junk, and a sour taste in our mouth for both Amazon and Fisher Price. DON't waste your time or money and find a product that is not going to burn your home down!!!!!

Playing away
My 5 yr old son received this from Santa. At first, he couldn't get enough of it. Now it sits with the rest. I think with some reminders, he will be as excited to play it as when he got it. It has a lot of potential. You need to buy separate cartridges for more music, but it comes with starter music and you can play your own tunes. I wish the cord was longer. I don't think a child under 5 would "get" it.

I Can Play Piano is a good product
My daughter, age 4, received this for Christmas and loved it. She is probably a little young for it, but she seems to do fine with it. You can easily change the tempo to slow down the songs. Even my wife and I tried it out. Before I even read any of the reviews on this site, I thought we might have a defective one. I had trouble turning the power on one day - the light would just flicker on and off. I realized that the cartridge was not in properly. Once I put it back in all the way, it functioned normaly. I have not had any other problems with it.I think any budding pianist would have a great time learning with this product.

Not so sturdy.
The bench is too small for my skinny little two year old to sit on. She's fallen off of it a few times, so we got her a sturdy kids beach chair to use instead. Also the piano itself only has 3 legs and it fell over once shortly after we got it and almost fell on my child. So I have to lean it up against the wall for support until I have a chance to buy something like a banister railing to glue to the bottom of it to make it more sturdy. I regret this purchase, and would not recommend this piano to anyone. My daughter is afraid to play with it.
