Q: Our lock worked for about 5 days. now it won't lock at all. no matter the code, it opens. reset per instructions, still doesn't lock. any advice?

Greetings. when you reset it to 000 did you open and close the lock move the dialer to a different set of numbers then hold the button to set the new lock code and then try to unlock it with new code. It’s sounds like you may need to cycle the dialer around once you reset it to default giving the device a chance to register the update.

Hi,Keep the lock open. There is a small button beside the lock cylinder. Press and hold the button to set the number combination you want, and then release it. The password setting is completed,

Q: Is someone able to get around the lock by simply cutting the band? What is the band made of and is it easy to cut?

The band is thin woven nylon. It could easily be cut with a sharp instrument. Much thinner than a seatbelt. I think this is more to keep toddlers or those with cognitive issues from access not really as a "security" measure

Q: Since it’s adjustable how do you keep the kids from just adjusting it so they can open and slip their hands in?

Once the lock is placed on the cabinet or refrigerator, it cannot be adjusted unless it is removed . I use these locks on my cabinets at school and it keeps my teacher supplies and students snacks safe. I absolutely love those product. I have also purchase as gifs for other teachers as well and they love them as well.
