This thing is great!
I've had for over a year now and it's great. The charge lasts a long time with regular use. I'm not sure how it would last for a nurse or someone that works in the hospital that would use it for hours at a time. It charges quickly though, so for a medical professional, I would recommend purchasing two to have a second one as a backup.

Best Pulse Oximeter I have owned
Best Pulse Oximeter I have owned. As a Health Professional, I have been buying finger pulse oximeters since they became available to the public back in the 90s. They were an invaluable extra aid when doing nursing-home rounds and I even used them with some patients to help them stop smoking. At that time, they were over $100 and did not have the features or display quality that these newer models have, even though they are only 1/3 the price.I particularly like this one because it is rechargeable and automatically orients the display to be the right way up no matter which hand you use. Sadly, now I am older, I have to use it to monitor my own PO2.

Awesome for the money!
I depend on additional oxygen to keep my pulse ox at a safe level. I have a reli on pulse oximeter that requires two AAA batteries, it does not keep records, and does not record the perfusion index. I paid $35 for that one. This Smilecare unit for under $20 is a powerful accurate medical tool. I compared the readings to my reli on pulse oximeter, and the one my doctor uses, and they agreed with each other. The smilecare pulse oximeter provides more information than any pulse oximeter you will buy at Walmart or the drugstore. As well as your pulse ox, your pulse rate, it also provides the perfusion index, which is a measurement of how well the blood is flowing at your test site. And then this unit goes much further : you can connect it to your tablet or phone, and record your pulse ox information over a period of time. There is one more good thing that all of the other pulse oximeters that I have had do not have. This pulse oximeter is rechargeable. Since I have to test so often, I go through a lot of AAA batteries.Oh, I almost forgot, you can set the brightness on the screen so that you can save batteries, it also has an alarm that you can set that will warn you when your pulse oximetry falls below a certain level. On top of that, it is very slender and very comfortable on my finger. It is comfortable even if you have to wear it for an extended period of time. I wish there were more spaces for me to write more I have more to say.

The many batteries this saved!
My mother had COPD and had to monitor her O2 levels every day. The struggle to keep batteries fresh was also an ordeal. Fianlly a rechargeable one that lasts all day and then some.

Not reliable for the person with a heart condition
The media could not be loaded. I bought 2 of different pulse oxymeters one was around 45$ and this one around 20. I thought I will keep one at home(45$ one) and another one will give to my 14 year old daughter to carry around in school and work to keep track on her oxygen saturation as her pulmonary hypertension keeps her oxygen levels at rest approximately 73-78. I wanted to make sure she can use it on the daily basis and if she will loose it it wouldn’t be too sad because it didn’t cost a fortune. My daughter have a portable oxygen concentrator machine which she carry around and using as needed so that’s why she needed another pulse oxymeter. Well yesterday the school called me and told me that based on this pulse oxymeter her oxygen level was 28. I mean I know 74 is already low enough but 28 it’s way too low and as soon as I got her I put 2 pulse oxymeters on her at the same time and the one that was 45$ showed stable 74-76 saturation while this one kept on beeping and jumping from 54 to 67. I tried to adjust it on different fingers, different hands or the same hand and it go even crazier. I returned it the next day. You can’t rely on this item unfortunately. What I was even thinking to buy something so cheap and expect it to work? And if you think that my daughter’s finger didn’t fit in this pulse oxymeter because she is a child I can assure you she is almost my height and she is wearing all my clothes and shoes and her hands are no different from mine. Check out the video. The 45$ pulse oxymeter worked even on my 4 year old and on my 1 year old even though Their fingers are tiny and it showed an accurate 100-99 saturation. This one didn’t show nothing on my little kiddos, it was just kept on beeping and tried to read it but couldn’t do it

It appears to work as advertized
PART 1I bought one for a friend, who has COPD, a while back and decided to get one for myself. It's small, easy to charge, easy to use. As far as it being accurate, there is no way for me to know how accurate it is without me having any test equipment available to test it with. The Android app is cute, if you can set it up, which takes some tech know-how about your phone and where apps are downloaded. It took some sleuthing to even find where to download it from. The app will want to turn off battery saving on your phone, so watch out! The app does the same thing that the unit does, so I have not yet found a reason to use the app, then using the unit is far more convenient. Overall, it's a good buy and I'll keep it with me.PART2I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and found that, now and then, it gives completely erroneous results. I got a reading (more than once) of well over 120 for the pulse rate. I let it power down, then tried it again and it measured properly. This is most likely caused by a software defect, so don't freak out and call 911 - it just needs to reboot.
