I think this book is good for children ages 8 and up. The reading about the Frogs, Toads and Turtles is very interesting and well-written, though brief. The pictures vividly display God's creatures. There is more than adequate space of four blank pages left in the back of the book for free drawing by the child, besides two pages for an arts and crafts project of making a turtle out of construction paper. The free drawing pages, the child can do on his own, however, the arts and crafts project may need an adult to help him with, unless the child is older than ten. When going camping as a family, this book can be helpful to use as a guide for looking for toads, frogs and/or turtles, and it can prove to be very handy. Just to read about these animals without the camping trip, can be interesting reading for adults to children, as well as for the child to read alone, depending upon their age, and for interested adults to learn about too. Review: Gift for my turtle loving son - The instant my son opened the package he dived right into this book, it was an instant hit! He loves turtles and was thrilled to find information on bullfrogs and other such critters we have already tracked down and raised from tadpoles. I especially love that this book tells the reader where they can find these animals and other valuable information. When the description and images of the book didn’t show any pages I was scared it would be way below my 8 y/o sons reading level - but it was actually spot on! I would definitely recommend this book for an young adventurer that loves to learn facts about these types of animals!

I love this book
I love this book, the illustrations are great and information is awesome. Not just a field guide also has fun craft or art ideas for kids. The back has a view pages to put photographs. At first I thought the back was for sketches but the paper is too glossy to do that. Overall this was a great book in our homeschooling when studying frogs, toads, and turtles.

Highly recommended
Realistic drawings of frogs, toads and turtles will help children from Pre-K through Grade 4 identify small woodland creatures. Contains drawings and text on each page with crafts on last two pages. I especially like the text boxes which give children good tips, such as, "Be kind to animals." This series if terrific for children interested in nature. Several books in this series kept my 4yo granddaughter busy for a long drive. I would highly recommend.

Great for teaching little children about nature
It was a gift to my niece, she is Five. She is a outdoor little girl and loves nature. Her Mom home schools her and said she uses these series of books for teaching.

Wonderful Series
This book is part of a nature series that is outstanding. They're colorful with beautiful artwork and informative with the information presented in a simple manner, making it enjoyable for kids. Even toddlers will enjoy looking through them. It's even more exciting when they see a frog, toad or turtle and know what it is.

Good elementary guide to amphibians and turtles
I love these guides. They are perfect for younger children who can't handle a lot of detailed prose. The sketches are charming, yet accurate. The information is geared to what a child might want to know, yet it is complete and it doesn't talk down to children. I'm not sure why they included turtles along with amphibians, but that's my only complaint. Maybe they could have called it pond life.

Perfect for a nature/homeschool library
This entire series is perfect for a nature homeschool library or for any nature lover really. We love that they can be easily taken out for field learning. They are packed with all kinds of great information too. Worth investing in all the books like this.
