Geeni Soothe Smart Wi-Fi Humidifier

Product leaks after a few months of use. I thought it was the seal and I tried everything to clean it out and make it work again. No matter what I do it leaks. Ruined one of my shelves in the process. Came back and read other reviews and seen others had the same problem. Too late to return but buyers beware! The functionality was great while it worked though.

Ok! New update 04/26/21! The same day i wrote the review below, my unit started leaking water. I think there must be a better humidifier out there. Probably best to completely steer clear of this. Kinda sad... i really wanted it to work :(. FROM 04/24/21: I’m not entirely satisfied with this humidifier. It’s really easy To use and I loved the ability to control with an app on my phone, BUT... the internal humidity sensor reads the humidity as at least 30% higher than what it actually is. So the humidifier turns itself off or never runs as directed. I spoke to customer service and they were helpful, and escalated the issue to the developers, but their response was, “yes, the internal sensor is close to where the most comes out, so it’s normal for the humidity level to read higher than the actual level” no help in correcting, no offer to replace... just YES ITS NORMAL FOR OUR UNIT TO NOT WORK RIGHT. We shall see if there is any more correspondence with them, but right now, kinda lame.

The unit eventually developed a leak and mold got in the inside. According to other reviews, this unit seems to be vulnerable to mold. I requested an RMA, and the warranty process was slow taking over a month to get a replacement. However, the person who runs that department called me and we discussed things over the phone. That person made sure I got the replacement I wanted and made some other concessions to make up for the delay, which I appreciate. Geeni, under Mercury Innovations, should consider that their technical support and warranty process should receive the same priority in strategic development that their marketing and sales do. While they have to be responsive to investors, they need to be responsive to customers as well. I know that some competitors would ship me an advanced replacement, no questions asked.

Love these! I love how easily it connects to my phone, and that it reminds me when they’re out of water. Looks nice in my room and in my child’s nursery! Amazing humidifier!

Setup is somewhat difficult. The directions and app has 2 ways to setup. You must manually set it to your wifi. Takes a little knowledge of your router and wifi. Once setup the app controls work however the built in hydrometer does not read accurately. The unit turns on and will run for a few minutes then thinks the humidity level raised significantly and turn back off. I was hoping to be able to maintain a given humidity however it just does not function as it should. 1 to 2 min burst of cool mist does not raise the humidity in the room rather it only fools the device. It works if you set the humidity to 100% and let it run. It can really only run on low because anything higher then low causes condensation to form on whatever surface the unit is sitting on. This could cause water damage and mold growth if on a wooden or non waterproof surface. There are quite a few humidifer options out there. Good idea but poor implementation on this product.
