Extremely good upgrade for the price to the OEM front speakers. Non-JBL system, stock front and rear door speakers -- these DS-18s by themselves add a ton of sound quality to the factory stereo system. Much clearer highs and they allow a more full sounding loud volume without straining. Plug and play in the Tacoma, simple to remove the A pillar covers and speaker grills, pop the old paper speakers out and pop the new ones in. Actually a 20 minute job start to finish, and my first time doing these. Wish I would have done this years ago.

Based on numerous online reviews I replaced the (non-JBL stereo) OEM tweeters in our 2020 Tacoma TRD with these DS18s. The improvement in sound was immediate! After adjusting the equalizer settings slightly the audio is much, much clearer, brighter and cleaner. I still have the OEM door speakers (replacing those next for improved mid and bass). Even without the new door speakers the sound system is markedly better and may work "as-is" for lots of folks. I considered the similar Kicker tweeters, but again, after a lot of research I went with the DS18s instead. There's one YT video where the owner replaced the Kicker tweeters he'd installed earlier with these DS18s. He said DS18s sounded much better. I've found that most products that folks say only take 15 or 20 minutes to install takes me an hour or more, but not these! It took me about 30 minutes from the time I assembled the tools (1/4" ratchet and extension, a 10mm socket and a 10mm wrench plus a couple of nylon trim tools) until I put them away. Cranked up everything from Van Halen to Enya to some classical music and it all sounded great with no distortion. Lots of YT DIY videos. When you have the passenger side out I'd recommend stuffing the air vent and various openings with some material to keep anything you might drop from disappearing. Otherwise it's very, very straight forward. A real no brainer and worth every cent even if you do nothing else to improve your Tacoma's audio. Recommended!

Can confirm these fit perfectly and are plug and play with the stock harness on a 5th Gen 4runner without the JBL system. Now sound is subjective, but i didn’t notice a night and day difference. My stock speakers always sounded slightly muffled and not clear with both radio and bluetooth audio. These speakers improved it ever so slightly. Still muffled but a bit clearer. No amount of EQ adjusting did much. I do notice bass hits a bit harder and cleaner on the same bass setting i had before. I think the reviews made it seem like a huge improvement, unfortunately for my ears it only improved slightly. I plan to still keep these, because after you remove the stock tweeters and inspect them, they’re a joke. Temporary fix until I’m able to pull the trigger on a complete audio replacement. Quick tip: had trouble removing the stock tweeters from the mounting bracket. It’s screwed on super tight. Had to use an impact driver will break it loose. After that install is a breeze.

The DS18 tweeters are an excellent stock replacement for the 2022 Tacoma. While I am not an audiophile, I found the factory tweeters in my 2022 Tacoma Sport (with the 8-inch non-JBL head unit) disappointing. I sought a sound upgrade without installing a new head unit or amplifier, and these tweeters delivered. These speakers are noticeably louder and brighter than the stock paper tweeters. The DS18s are plug-and-play and straightforward to install, taking approximately one hour. For those seeking an affordable sound upgrade, I recommend installing these tweeters first. Adjust the fade bias two clicks toward the front from center, then evaluate the difference. The improvement is substantial. Highly recommended.

3rd Gen, Tacoma. Wow what a difference! I could not hear any sound out of the OEM speakers. These DS18 Have such clear and crisp sound. Wish I purchased them sooner.

I have a new to me 2021 Tacoma and had been working with the big “C” for my audio supplies on my truck. They could not come up with a set of tweeters that would install without a bunch of extra work, eventually recommending I leave the factory tweeters. Not good enough! I came across a YouTube video where a guy was installing these and it was literally plug and play, so I decided I had nothing to lose and ordered them. Both speakers were installed, in under half an hour, they are truly plug and play with no adaptor kit for mounting and they sound amazing. They give me the highs I have been missing from my factory speakers. The only downside was with the driver side screws, they were tight to reach with my big hands, but that’s on the truck, not the speakers. Just know it is a possibility. These speakers are definitely a must have if you own a 3rd Generation Tacoma.

Excellent upgrade to stock Tacoma tweeters. All you have to do is connect red to red and black to black from the old harness to the new tweeter and that’s all. Sound upgrade is quite amazing and job was super easy to do.
