Seems to be true 128 GB capacity
I was a bit skeptical with this unknown brand’s flash drive, especially with the prevalence of a number of unknown brands making grandiose promises with their drive’s capacity at unrealistic prices.I decided to try this drive because I knew I could quickly determine if its 128 GB capacity is true or not with a real world test with data that I had backed up elsewhere and wasn’t concerned that I would lose. The drive was recognized with no issues on my Windows 7 computer reporting it as a fat32 device showing it as a 128 GB drive (well more like between 127 and 128 GB) with 118 GB capacity. That capacity seems to be pretty normal as far as how drives report their space after being formatted. When I go to eject the drive, it is called a pendrive on my machine. I have yet to connect this to a Win10 laptop I have, but I don’t expect it to have any issues at being recognized either. The drive seems to be made pretty well with a plastic shell covering the inner electronics along with a sliding metal cover that protects the USB plug. It would have been nice if that cover locks into place but that is a minor issue for me. This has a small metal ring that I found to be a bit too weak to keep this from falling off a clip or hook. I don’t carry these types of drives that way as I just prefer to throw into a bag or my pocket instead.I initially tried copying a few hundred files and then erased them. I had no issues with that initial test. Then in order for me to test whether this is a true 128 GB capacity drive or not, I copied my complete music library which consists of about 75 GB’s of MP3’s/M4A (Apple)files and with the remaining free space, I copied several random files including some word docs in order to fill the complete space. Although I won’t say this was the speediest USB 3 drive (as this did a bit of time to copy), this did copy all the files over with no errors. I then checked a variety of files to see if they copied properly and found them all to be working with nothing overwritten or damaged. I didn’t see any strange or weird behavior of the drive other than the occasional pause as it copied such a large number of files at a time. Unlike my Sandisk Ultra, this drive did not get warm while it was being used. The warranty is only one year which is less than my Sandisk drives that are five years, so it remains to be seen how reliable this drive will be long term. I will say this seems to be a decent flash drive so far though, depending on its current price as compared to other brands.4 starsSample provided for review.

how my new flash drive fares against others
The first thing I did when I got this flash drive was throw a 1.71 GB file on it, which took all of 76 seconds on a USB 3.0 port. I've done this on other flash drives and have gotten results as fast as 30 seconds to as long as 7 minutes, so 76 seconds wasn't bad in my book. However, I'm sure some of you will want to know how my new flash drive fares against others currently on the market, so I used FlashBench from the UsbFlashSpeed site. Here's what I got:Serial Number: 000000000000000289Model: Innostor InnostorVendor: INNOSTORProduct: INNOSTOR (I swear, I didn't goof and test the wrong flash drive)Revision: 1.00File system: FAT32Size: 121891 MBRead speed: 23.95 MB/sWrite speed: 22.97 MB/sFor you techies out there, do with this information what you will. As for me, the flash drive works well enough to satisfy my basic storage needs. I don't feel like I have to wait around for it, either, so I'm quite happy with it.This product was provided for review by II LLC.

Large capacity drive in a small, smart and colorful package
I'm no technical expert, but I know enough to test out a new flash drive with files that I wouldn't mind losing--which is what I did with this nice looking flash drive. I've had no issues with it, and I'm happy to have it.It must be difficult to come up with new and innovative designs for flash drives, but Olatec has developed a sharp-looking design that protects the port end with a swiveling metal cover. The whole thing is shorter than most drives, at only 2 1/4" long. My only observation is that the spring ring is not heavy-duty and too delicate for rough treatment. I never have the opportunity to treat my flash drives roughly, so the spring ring will remain a non-issue.I like the fact that this comes in several distinct colors. The color, plus my own label (pasted over the way-too-large Olatec logo) keeps my flash drives organized. For my average use and experience, I think that data travels quick enough into and out of this flash drive.*I received a free, sample product from Olatec for evaluation/review.
