Cuda Titanium-Bonded Fish Hook Remover Tool

As a Shark Fishing Captain, I use this tool a lot. For sharks under 50 lbs or so , Perfect. For bigger , Well it does bent to my fault. I have had 3 of them now, one broken from using it on a large shark and another went in the drink to see the Kraken at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico when i dropped it ! This hook remover is awesome and sturdy. It is extra long to keep your hands away from shark teeth. But I wish it had a lanyard hole to attach a lanyard or float. I would hate for it to go overboard and sink to the depths.

This thing really works well. I've used needle nose fishing pliers all of my life to remove hooks but I don't think I'll use them anymore. I mainly fish Texas bays for trout and redfish and usually throw topwater lures with multiple treble hooks. These hooks can grab onto everything and cause time and stress on the fish I'm trying to release. This dehooker is much easier to use and safer for the fish since I can get it back into the water in much less time.

Solid product and does exactly what it’s suppose to do! It takes a couple practices to master, but it has saved several fish. My ONLY request would be that they would put a hole in the handle to attach a lanyard. I rigged one up by using a zip tie though.

All in all a good product. The only fault was, when I received and opened it. I came to find that one of the handles missed the line up when the retainer/lock/set pin was installed on the final assembly and missed the hole in the shaft completely...That would be one of the five stars gone... I center punched and reinstalled the pin correctly found it operationally sound. Secondary star loss would be because one of the only faults with this hook remover is the limited functionality, dont get me wrong this is a sturdy piece of equipment (once it's in one piece). Once you get the hook into the notch its locked in, but some situations i found it very difficult to get it to set in just right.

I just want to say this tool is worth every penny! Today I kicked off my shoes on the boat and some how managed to get a treble hook from my rattle trap jammed through the top of one of my toes...I was panicking, I was in pain and was wondering how I was going to get this bad boy out with out having to rip the entire skin off the top of my toe because the Barb was buried in there...well hubby grabbed this tool and in one quick and painless click it was OUT!! Def recommend this tool to any fisherman/woman!!
