Excellent quality, expertly designed and well built.
I have seen a few of these types of hammers but never knew who made them or where to buy them. When I came upon a listing on Amazon, I immediately ordered the small "A" model with both copper and rawhide ends. My preliminary tests at the workbench suggest I am going to like and use it wherever I have need to strike a solid blow without marring whatever surface I'm working on. I have and use brass and rawhide hammers but haven't been really happy with them because they are relatively lightweight and when I need to strike a hard blow, they just really don't do the job. This hammer has a forged iron midsection on the head which serves as the housing for the copper and rawhide striking surfaces and provides an authoritarian weight when a blow is struck that I've found lacking in my single head soft hammers. I plan on using mine to work on leathercraft projects, gunsmithing, machine work and any job that requires a firm blow with no chance of damage to the work surface. The fact that I can replace either the copper or rawhide ends when excessively worn is an added bonus. I can highly recommend this brand to anyone who needs a well-designed and high-quality soft blow hammer. They're not the cheapest, but quality never is.

Well made, works great, would buy again
Ordered this mallet for leather crafting. It did take about a month to get here from overseas (I’m in the USA) but it did arrive in the time frame the seller had said it would. This thing is great, one tap and it cuts my punches straight through 6-7oz vegtan no problem, no extra force is needed and only one hit is great for my tools to give them a longer life as well. It works great for using half round punches as well, those I usually have to hit a few time and two quick hits with this and it cuts through it. This hammer is sturdy, there is no wobble in the head of it and the weight is perfectly balanced to give an accurate hit every time. The rawhide side looked as though it was splitting but after using it for a few weeks now I have come to the conclusion that is just how this rawhide was rolled for the hammer. The copper side has been great for setting rivets and other small bits of metal, as well as putting a nail in a wall (husbands last resort was to use my brand new hammer!!!). Overall very happy with this purchase and if for any reason I need a new one I will be ordering again.

Happy With This Hammer!
This is a great hammer for working with leather. It’s a nice weight and size. I’m liking it better than my mallet for using my hole punch, and putting in rivets.

The quality I've come to expect from England
The quality I've always expected from British products. One thing I've always liked about the English is that they never seem to put profit ahead of quality. My only complaint is that the handle is a little more robust than I would like but that's fine. I always remove the the varnish from tool handles and apply boiled linseed oil. A few strokes with a spoke shave and a little sanding it will be perfectly suited to my hands.
