A Christmas Carol is a great pastime and a story I absolutely love. The Deluxe Gift Edition makes it feel extra special, especially for the holidays. We read it this Christmas, and while it takes a bit to get used to the older style of language, the kids (ages 9 and 12) enjoyed it enough since they already knew the story and could follow along despite the dialect. I would definitely recommend it, especially as a seasonal family read. This book is a collectors item. Its leather bound with sturdy pages that are definitely thicker than the standard book pages. Its an easy read, though you may need a dictionary on some words commonly used way back when but not today. The story is a classic much loved story. Many movies follow it fairly closely with embellishments. I found the story to be much better than the movies. Its very fast paced short novel, the scenes left out of or rewritten by movies are far superior to anything Hollywood can produce. I will be reading this book every year along with the movies. Its a library must have. The beauty of this book will be a pride on your shelf.

Perfect size and must have for any home library!!! It’s a nicely bound rendition with gold trim on the pages and cover. It holds as closely to the original writing as I have read. Loved it from start to finish! It's a wonderful short story that teaches us the power of festivities and happiness, the ability to change that every man possesses, and how there are things more important than money or bussiness. I loved to experience Christmas once again through the eyes of a child (or of a spirit) and seeing human nature in all its different faces, hopeful or filthy. Highly recommend it for anyone who believes in Santa Claus ;)
