I love my food processor but it has a few annoying design flaws. First, the top rather than twisting off has a right hand hinge. First, unless you take the top off the hinge it is in the way when adding product. Second, unless you have your hands on them, the smaller plungers go flying across the room. I have broken corners off the middle plunger twice. Both the bowl, the top, and the plungers are made of a brittle plastic. I anticipate having to replace them in fairly short order. As a slicer, shredder and processor it preforms like a champ. I have made a total of 20 pounds of pimento cheese and prepared and Italian sausage dish as an appetizer for 350 for a fundraiser. All the slicing, shredded, grating and processing was done quickly and efficiently. The fact that shredding or slicing blades can be attached above the processing blade saves time by combining two processes into one. Except for the design limitations. Except for the design limitations I mentioned it is the best processor I’ve owned. This is my third generation.

My older model broke and while I don't use a food processor all that often, the times I do make it worth it to have one and I'd prefer a decent model over some cheap version that won't perform. My older model was a 13 cup bowl that actually had several bowls nested inside so you could either do the whole 13 cups or size down. These new configurations just have the one bowl. The older models had a box for the accessories; this one has everything stored on board. And that's nice for storage, but it is like a puzzle putting it all back together. They do give you several diagrams showing you how to put it all back, but it is slightly tricky at first. Instead of sliding around to come on and off, the cover pops open and can be taken off the base by pulling on the hinge side. I've used it twice so far, once to pulverize cookies to use as a pie crust and another time to chop roasted vegetables to make salsa. Both turned out great. The pulse is nice and steady and did both jobs equally well. There was no leakage and I think part of that is due to the new design where the bowl snaps down into place rather than sliding back and forth to lock. Also, the new "nut" in the middle of the bowl to hold the chopping blades is sealed so it would be harder for liquids to get inside and eventually leak out. I wasn't unhappy with the older model but this is a nice upgrade. Most of the parts go in the dishwasher but you wash the blades by hand (as always). Takes up vertical space in the cupboard but since all the accessories are on board, you're only taking up that space.

A great size. I like that all of my attachments fit into a caddy inside the bowl for easy storage. Very powerful. I like the color, and that it also has a slicing feature.

I am thrilled with the performance of this KitchenAid 13 cup food processor. The disappointment came yesterday, Jan. 9, 2025, when I contacted KitchenAid directly wanting to replace the very thin black rubber gasket which is a component of the “work bowl cover”. Nowhere in the accompanying manual nor on-line, is this gasket mentioned. As a matter of fact, the delightful KitchenAid customer service rep I spoke with could not locate any mention of the rubber gasket. Following a Q & A of several minutes, the customer rep. informed me that this model has been discontinued!!! Imagine that - an item that was purchased October 2024, is now DISCONTINUED as of January 2025. My intension was to purchase 2 additional rugger gaskets and 1 additional work bowl as “just in case” replacements. In my opinion, potential buyers should be made aware that this is considered by KitchenAid as “DISCONTINUED”. If it had been, I would have researched and purchased a current model. The customer rep. informed me that my request to have this unit be returned and I given credit towards a current production model of the 13 cup KitchenAid Food Processor. Kitchen aid will however arrange for this unit to be returned and an entirely NEW REPLACEMENT sent to me. NOT just the bowl cover and gasket, but, complete unit. Therefore, my advise to you, a potential buyer, is to research the product for availability of replacement parts.

Owned a kitchenaid in the past and really liked it, however i can no longer get bowl replacements for it.. What attracted me to this one was all the pieces store inside the bowl when not being used. Assembling, yes assembling the blade mechanism was not intuitive, i had to pull out the user instructions to use the machine. There are 3 parts to use the blade. the stalk you would use for the shredder blades, a cover for the stalk and then the blade. I used it to grind nuts for a cookie dough and then to make the dough, per the recipe. Ground the nuts fine. Got bogged down making the dough, there was a layer of really fine material around the blade and the rest of the ingredients hanging out above. I had to use the stand mixer to finish the dough. :/ Gettting all the stuff nested back into the stand that sits inside the bowl was a bit fiddley but not bad. I have only used it once. Really didnt like the blade assembly. That being said, i recently used my Brothers Cuisinart processor, much more intuitive to use, however the gap between the shredder blade and the bowl was huge, so large chunks of veg fell in with the finely shredded stuff. Based on first use I would not buy this again, however getting comfortable with the machine may change my mind.
