Incredible value soldering iron kit
I'm blown away by the build quality and value for money with this particular soldering iron kit. You get everything you need to start . Included in the kit is the iron itself, a small stand with sponge for cleaning the tips, instructions, 5 different soldering tips and a tube of solder. The iron itself comes with an adjustable heat setting dial and a clear on off indicator which is great for safety, so you know if it is on or off. It has a switch to change between 220 w and 60 w. Ther eis a comfort grip on the top of the iron to help control and grip it better.Long power lead whixh is very helpful and is great if your power point is far away.I'm really happy with this purchase.

Heats up quickly, variety of tips, very good value! But no solder sucker!
I really like the variety of tips that are included with this soldering iron, they cover every situation and they are very easy to change. The temperature gage is handy, I was doing some very delicate soldering and felt totally confident that I wasn't going to damage any of the other components I was working around. The only thing that could have made this better would have been a solder sucker for when you are removing solder. Teh lack of a solder sucker tool drops one star, but it's really worthy of 4.5

Great for beginners
I had a broken headset where one of the drivers blew.I decided to try and DIY fix it.Watched a few YouTube tutorials and decided to purchase this soldering iron kit as it’d be great for beginners and more than enough for my situation.Works great and includes all the items needed to get started.I recommend this for small DIY projects and beginners wanting to learn before purchasing a better more expensive iron.

A cheap and cheerful soldering iron
It is not actually temperature controlled (as the description and pictures suggest). By that I mean there is no sensor feedback regulating the tip to any specific temperature. However, it does have an electronic variable power controller in the handle. The power is variable from 10W minimum to about 70W maximum. To get the specified fast heat up, you would have to manually set it to maximum, then reduce it after say 30s else it will get too hot. If you leave it at minimum on switch on it takes maybe 3-4 minutes to achieve melting point. A thermostatic controlled iron would do this automatically. If soldering a large thermal mass object you would have to manually turn up the dial to get enough heat into the job. Then as soon as you did the job you would have to quickly turn it back to minimum to prevent it overheating and oxidising the tip. It’s ok and it works but there are better ones around for similar money. Thermostatic temperature control is what is ideally needed. I can’t be bothered returning it so it will get used.PS Edit….. I’ve just noticed that the 3 pin UK plug attached to the flex was fitted with a 13 Amp fuse! This is completely wrong for a low wattage appliance with such a thin flex. It absolutely should be a low value such as 1Amp or 2Amp. Even the outside of the plug is embossed with 3 Amps fuse rating! To be fitted with a 13A fuse shows a lack of understanding of UK safety requirements and is offering no protection. I have now replaced it with a 1 Amp fuse.
