The hardware is beautifully made and looks great. That said, and as mentioned by other reviewers, you better mount on a separate board, and you need to measure the center-to-center distance between mounts as they are not exactly 20”. If your medallion mounts are off by even 1/32” the rails won’t fit. Mount one rail and definitely mount from the middle mount first. I had to remove the rails and ream out a couple holes to get the screws in. I can see this being required more often than not, and reaming out stainless steel is not easy. All this said, I would order these again because they are that solid.Another thing that would be very helpful is some instruction on how to measure the mounts for a ladder. I also found the 1/2” drill hole to be a bit small to mount the roller inserts. I tested on some scrap 2x2 and when I mounted the insert it split the wood. I had to ream the hole a bit but I am not expecting the drilling to work flawlessly on the oak.
