Ridiculously Bright!
I have the double light version of this light and fellow bicyclists do not like following me as my light is sooooo obnoxiously bright. This is exactly why you get a tail light...to alert cars coming from behind of your presence. Cars, bicyclists, basically any creature with working eyes cannot miss you. The single version does not disappoint. It's just a smaller version of the double super nova I have on my bike. It's easy to charge, easy to install and has many different light patterns you can choose from. Want to be noticed on your bike? Get this light!PS. I bought the double light version of this light for my brother for Christmas.

Perfect in Every Way
I'm not going to attach a photo, because the listing already has large, high resolution pictures. Rest assured, I absolutely LOVE these Cygolite Hotshot Pro 200 Lumen Bicycle Tail Lights. Having bought 3-4 different headlights, I became frustrated with the terrible quality, weak light, and poor battery life of the tail lights haphazardly packaged with them. Surely, I thought, SOMEBODY makes a high-quality tail light that isn't just an afterthought. Cygolite does.It is hot in Texas, so I ride my bike mostly at night when the heat of the day has subsided. Fast-moving, distracted drivers are dangerous enough without being invisible to them. The Cygolite Hotshot is bright. It gets noticed. Cars see you from far away. I can look over my shoulder and see it lighting up road signs 200 feet away. Settings allow you to adjust the light to blink and dim to your preference. Battery life is excellent. I usually charge it with my headlight, and the Cygolite battery outlasts it every time.Mounting is easy, and it releases quickly with just a touch of the lever. I also bought the Cygolite Hypershot 350. That is a higher-end model, and also an excellent product. You can't go wrong with either one.

Exceptionally bright
This is an exceptionally bright rear bike light ... the brightest light I've ever owned in my 12+ years of road biking and commuting. I gave this product 5 stars, but would technically rate it 4.75 stars if I had the opportunity. Here is why (pro/con):PROS:1. There is no equal that I've seen to date for how bright this rear light is. I purchased two lights: one for me, one for my wife. We ride our road bikes on rural highways, a few of which have enough traffic and not-so-wide shoulders to be concerned. For a test, during an overcast day, I had my wife ride well ahead of me, with a max distance of approximately 1/2 mile. The light was very visible ... even from that distance. And this was DURING THE DAY! For me, safety is why I purchased this light. I'm still not complacent on the road with all the crazy drivers out there, but this light provides the safety and awareness element I was seeking.2. Did I mention how bright the light is? There is actually a warning on the box that advises against looking directly into the light.3. Even though we've only used the lights a few times, we've noticed that cars seem to be slowing down and moving over in the road more. The light is so catchy, that I don't think drivers can avoid but pay attention (assuming they are not looking at their phones ...).4. There are a number of different modes/cycles for the light ... blinking randomly, pulsing, steady, etc. I really only use the steady blinking.5. Super easy to recharge ... just detach from the bike mount and plug in. I haven't tested to see whether the use times are accurate.6. Easy assembly ... the bike mount is standard. And it is highly adjustable ... to get the perfect angle for maximum effectiveness (e.g. so that the ligh isn't pointing too high or too low and over/under the heads of the drivers behind you.7. The actual light body has a sturdy clip, which is nice if you want to attach it to the back of your shorts (on a run), water bottle holder (for roller skiing) or back of your bag/backpack (if commuting). I attached it to my bike seat pole and adjusted the angle for maximum effectiveness.8. Easy to slot into the bike mount holder and detach.CON:1. The only "con" I can come up with is how to turn the light off. You have to hold down on the two buttons in the front for 2+ seconds. I'd rather simply cycle through to off, but that is a personal preference. There have been a few times, where I've had to press the buttons a second time to make sure I've depressed the buttons correctly and turned the device off.

Great Light BUT Not Waterproof
This is a great light in many respects: 1) Very bright, 2) Great selection of flash patterns, intensities, 3) Very easy to mount AND aim with the provided mounts and the ability to inexpensively purchase additional mounts, (many lights mount only to seatposts which is not possible on all bikes particularly if using an underseat pack. Seatpost-only lights are also frequently poorly aimed ) 4) Very good battery life, 5) Nice lighting pattern that is wider than it is high and also has side visibility. 6) Bright enough to be a very effective DRL - I'm a big proponent and use DRLs all the time after some close calls with cars.BUTIt's NOT WATERPROOF. I'm not sure why as it constructed very similarly to my 6-year old Garmin EDGE 500 that has spent countless hours in the rain whereas one wet ride will wipe out the Cygolite Hotshot Pro. I'd rate it lower if I could find a light as good that is better in the wet and that I didn't have to wrap it in a plastic sandwich bag when it rains. When I've opened up the Cygolite after it craps out, there is no apparent water and drying it out with a hairdryer doesn't restore it. I suspect that a small amount of water does get into my Garmin but it's bombproof where the Cygolite is very sensitive to any moisture.January 2025 Update: I think that the water issue is mainly when it is mounted on the seatpost and subject to a hard water spray off the rear wheel. Mounting on the seatstay is much better.

Plenty bright
I bought the 150 lumen and the 350 lumen version. This 150 was plenty bright. The 350 might be too bright - it's great for distance, but I worry it might blind a car as it got nearer. In any case, this one is quite visible enough. Lots of different blink patterns and two mounts for mounting in different places.
