Proper 1440p support for LG GX OLED and other 1440p compatible TVs
This adapter has managed to solve not one but two EDID related headaches. I miss the old days of a device just sending whatever video mode you asked rather than only allowing for “approved” resolutions. The EDID is basically a list of supported resolutions and video timings display can accept, which is fine if manufacturers utilize this feature correctly. Unfortunately some don’t and here we are.Devices like the RetroTink 5x that allow choosing a video resolution anyway bypasses any EDID related problems which is great.Unfortunately Marseille decided to implement their handling of EDID in a strange way. The mClassic can output 1440p but only if the maximum resolution of the TV’s EDID is 1440p. This means 4K TVs are stuck with 1080p with the mClassic. With this adapter, the mClassic believes my TV is a 1440p monitor and works at 1440pfor LG OLED owners, LG messed up the EDID on the OLED TVs and only 1440p 120Hz is supported per the EDID but the TV will display 60Hz content fine only if the device sending video will force it or you use this adapter.Onto my second use case. I have an older 1080p 3D TV that can take 120Hz at 1080p for 2D viewing but only with this adapter as the TV’s EDID does not have 1080p 120Hz as a supported resolution. With this adapter I can play my Series X on that TV at 1080p 120Hz as the Xbox now thinks that the TV can do 120Hz so the option shows up on the Xbox settings menu.

This and the M Classic are a great pair.
So I've had an M Classic for about 2 years. My TV can handle 1440p but the M Classic would not recognize that it could on my Vizio Tv.I stumbled on this product while looking for something else. I read a review how it allowed the M Classic to go to 1440p on an LG tv. I figured for $20 its worth a shot.Shot fired, shot hit. Played some XBox360 upscaled to 1440p pairing this with the M Classic.Without this the MClassic would only go up to 1080p.

Nintendo Switch- mClassic 1440p Resolution (Does Not Support HDCP)
I've used this adapter on my Nintendo Switch OLED w/ the mClassic. Although the LG C9 TV can support 1440p resolution, it cannot display native 1440p w/ the mClassic unless this adapter forces it to and it'll work just fine! The mClassic's results are more clearer and in full effect now.The only downside is that the adapter does not support HDCP with the Nintendo Switch's YouTube and Hulu app. Which is a shame because I tend to use the Switch's YouTube app constantly. It's still great though! I highly recommend it for those who are gonna use it for gaming w/ the mClassic connected.

Perfect for the mClassic
I, like the other two reviews, have a TV that receives 1440p (2k) signals, but needed a digital handshake between my mclassic and TV in order to get a 2k signal from the mclassic. It worked instantly. Better picture quality, less noise, and mclassic Anti-aliasing! Here’s a tip for Nintendo switch users: if the game you’re playing is natively 900p or 1080p, have your switch set to 1080p. If it is a 720p game, put it to 720p. Most of your first party titles run at 900p, except a few titles like pikmin 3 deluxe. Very few 3rd party games get above 720p. If you primarily play 1st party games, leave the tv in 1080p mode. When getting a new game, look up the resolution. A hassle, I know, but you’ll get the best graphics that way.

Perfect workaround for mClassic 1440p support
As most other reviewers, I got this to get the mclassic to work on 1440p.I recently got a TCL C635, and due to it being 4K the Switch looked pretty bad on it even with the mclassic. With this I can finally get a 2K image out of it, improving the experience. It even turns on my TV and helps the TV recognize the source as a Nintendo Switch. The latter being something this TV wouldn't do before for some reason.

Passthrough/emulation didn't work with multiple devices/cables
Seemed to only emulate some kind of 2k monitor and did not allow passthrough to my 3440x1440 ultrawide. Tried with multiple laptops, cables, adapters. Also tried to use CRU to overwrite the EDID info to match the monitor and it still failed to passthrough to the monitor. Returning, will try other solutions

Works on Samsung QN90A too!
I got this for my Samsung QN90A. The mClassic CAN output 1440p on the Nintendo Switch without it, but only if Game Mode is turned off. With this device, I can get the mClassic to output 1440p with Game Mode turned on! The only nitpick is that my TV can't recognize the Nintendo Switch with this device, so I have to manually set it up as either game console or PC, but I'll take playing in 1440p with Game Mode on any day!

Works well enough - I would recommend
Seems to mostly work, though I was targeting 1920x1080 60Hz using progressive (not interlaced). My high end Dell monitor does not properly display interlaced, so the normal progressive (as in 1080p <-- *p*) is needed.Eventually I found that 1920x1080 50Hz progressive DOES work... after guessing and checking many configurations I landed on the 50Hz solution and now this device works perfectly to prevent my Windows computer from freaking out every time I switch screens with a KVM.
