Essential Book of the Filming of SKYFALL
This is Greg Williams' fourth "Bond on Set" book of set photography. I thought his books on DIE ANOTHER DAY, CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE were all very good. Once more we have a collection of James Bond set images. This collection from SKYFALL is again an essential companion to the 2012 James Bond film, just as his "Bond on Set" books were. Looking back I still feel that "Bond on Set: 007 Filming Die Another Day" evoked visual memories of James Bond somewhere between Ian Fleming's literary vision and those created from the cinematic version. That book was rather thought provoking and delved somewhat deep into Fleming's literary world from a stylistic point of view. "Bond on Set: Filming Skyfall" seems to evoke a more modern vision of Ian Fleming's feel and atmosphere for James Bond in an artistic format based on the globe trotting exploits in an era of computer based technology. The photographs are more than plentiful and cover a broad range of locales and sets. The cinematic James Bond has come a long way since DIE ANOTHER DAY and so have we as is evidenced by the visuals found in this book. I get a strong sense of movement viewing this collection of photographs, which are splendid in their own unique way. Once again, this is one of several good books to come out on the Daniel Craig era of James Bond films.

Entertaining look behind the scenes of a James Bond classic
"Bond on Set - Filming Skyfall" is an entertaining look behind the scenes of a James Bond classic. The book is full of colorful high definition pictures showing the making of the movie. There are several passages of text from the shooting script describing the scene and others informing what's going on in the pictures, i.e., "81A INT. MAIN HALL/COMPUTER ROOM - DAY." "Bond is pushed through the door. One of the heavies indicates for him to sit. His hands are still tied." There is a list of the cast and crew in the back of the book and the author and photographer, Greg Williams, gives his thanks to all the people involved in making the movie. Other than that, the book is all pictures taken not only on set, but on location, such as Scotland, where SKYFALL, the name of Bond's childhood home, is set. A movie is rarely shot in order when it is in production, but the pictures in the "Bond on Set" books have been organized to reflect the sequence of the movie, telling the story as if you were watching it, so it has a natural flow. The only exception to this is the section on pre - production, which is at the end of the book and includes pictures of the meeting at Pinewood Studios, sculptures and paintings, Daniel Craig training with the stunt team, Javier Bardem, Berenice Marlohe, and Craig training with firearms, and a picture from the press conference. The book is a must for any James Bond fan.

If you loved skyfall, get this book
A lot of pictures, behind the scenes and shots from the movie. It tells us a story with images about how the movie was made and shows us the faces of a lot of the people that make movies like this happen but we never get to see them. Great book and a must have for bond fans.

Bond On Set
Great photographs and script notations. The only problem is that the more photos you see, the more you want to see. He must have taken 100 photos for every 1 that was published, and I would like to see them all. What is printed is excellent without getting too overloaded with details. Good stuff at a bargain price.

Another beautiful look behind the Bond films
Similar to the Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace books, this is a very nice hardback book with tons of nice pictures from the filming of Skyfall, the latest rendition of the James Bond films. Other than confirming the quality, I didn't look too closely as this will be one of my main Christmas presents this year. :)

James Bond fans rejoice, and get this book!
This is a must for Daniel Craig/James Bond fans who like seeing behind the movie, or what it took to make the movie in the first place. The book is filled with photographs from start to finish, and makes you feel like you were there when the movie filmed. James Bond fans, rejoice, and get this book!

Skyfall's Bond On Set is Great!
The book is wonderful for any Skyfall fan who can't get enough of the movie. I did love the book but in view of the long wait for Bond 24 I now wish the book were twice as long. Of course if it was I would still say the same thing. I think I'll just end up picking up other Bond On Set books. If you loved Skyfall and need more pair this book with the movie commentaries.

BONDS AWAY
Waited to look at this book until I saw the film. Did'nt want to spoil my trip to the theater. The movie is very good, and the book covers the way they did the filming. Glad I waited until I saw the film first. It would have given too many views of what was to come. A Bond fan would enjoy this book.
